Pogrebnyak’s wife added that the family faced further blood tests on Wednesday.

Pavel is currently playing for Russian Premier League side FC Ural Yekaterinburg.

The Russian forward scored 30 goals in 89 starts during his three seasons in English football between 2012 and 2015, including that memorable perfect hat-trick (left foot, right foot, header) for Fulham against Wolves.

After he was unable to agree terms with the Cottagers, he signed a four-year deal with Reading where he scored 26 goals in 93 appearances before returning back home to Russia in 2015.

By scoring five goals in his first three appearances for Fulham, Pogrebnyak became the fastest player in Premier League history to score five times. He also scored within the opening 20 seconds against Wolves.
