Everton’s Moise Kean loses his head and sees red in off-the-ball scuffle vs Huddersfield

Everton’s Moise Kean loses his head and sees red after off-the-ball scuffle vs Huddersfield earlier in the Carabao Cup Second Round meeting.

Just last season, the 21 year old striker was lining up with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar while on loan at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, his career hit a new low on Tuesday night, after finding himself with lets face it, less glamorous company as he made a rare start for the Premier League outfit.

Although Everton went on to advance through to the third round stage of the competition after a 2-1 win at the John Smith’s Stadium, Kean himself had a night to forget and footage has now been released of his heated moment.

Boss Rafa Benitez brought him back into the lineup, allowing both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin to be rested, the Italian was frustrated when he saw a goal harshly ruled out for offside.

Things really went from bad to worse for Kean just before the hour mark as he was shown a straight red card for pushing Huddersfield’s Duane Holmes in the neck.

A clip of the incident has done the rounds online and sometimes with these types of incident, they are dealt with and the match is resumed without any players needing to be sent off.

But on this occasion, Keen is seen raising his arms directly in front of referee Matthew Donohue – who was well within his rights to given the player his marching orders.

Benitez has since sent a message to Moise Kean after he received a red card in the Carabao Cup win.

On Moise Kean’s red card: “He is a young player and has to learn from it.

“The reaction from the players was great and you could see the reaction from the fans.”

Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan said post-match: “We wanted to make a good game tonight against a high-quality opponent.

“With the passing minutes we created chances. We stayed calm and continued doing good things after making it 1-1. The team showed we have more options to play, which is something very important to us.

“We have no doubts about the quality of Danel Sinani. We knew he needed to reach the physical level to help the team. He showed he can help us more.”

Everton boss Rafael Benitez: “We are fighting for our club. That is very clear and again today the fans showed their support. That is the main thing for me.

“We created chances and took control. They had more belief after they scored the goal. They were pushing after that and then the sending-off changed things.”

Fans reacted as Everton’s Moise Kean loses his head and sees red in an off-the-ball scuffle vs Huddersfield…

@bobbi_efc__: Get moise kean as far away from Everton football club as possible

@T1Toffee: Can we admit we’re not all smiling all day everyday when we’re at work? Some of us are grumpy bastards, and just get on with stuff. But look a bit miserable. Doesn’t mean we can’t do our job. #moisekeanThe red card was a joke. The goal should have stood.I’d be pissed off too

@FinKitch: Given an opportunity and Moise Kean shoots himself in the foot 🤷‍♂️

@NormanPatt: Moise Kean scored a goal which was disallowed incorrectly and got a red card for a bit of a push, poor quality of officials cost the lad dearly.

@steved_GT: Not in a million years was that red card. Barely a yellow to be fair, ref had a rush of blood

@Fpl_boyo: That surely isn’t a red card.

@whitesideEFC: My reflection on lasts nights game, moise kean actually played well his goal was clearly onside and that was never a red card

@mike7299: Never a red, the refs screwed up massively there

@BazTastic77: harsh red… was just a shove

@ian_10_19: Don’t agree with that call, but it’s karma for Huddersfield having a good goal disallowed

@Gazzz1995: How’s that a red?

@LeeFMc83: Kean has scored a worldie which was ruled out despite being clearly onside. He’s then been sent off by some 12 year old ref for absolutely nothing. He doesn’t deserve the crap that he’ll undoubted get now.

@wmsteele: Was it dumb? Yes. Straight red? No.

@scouseboy27: these officials are a joke, are they from the sunday league

@WhatKCSaid: One of the worst signings in our history and that’s saying something. Absolute disaster and absolutely shite to boot

@RogersHistory: This guy is a complete liability. Please sell ASAP. The big Dunc sub saga should have been the end for him.

@rion_lieberman: That was not a red.

@whujack7: From playing for PSG to getting sent off against Huddersfield 😭
