Everton fans calls for “meaningful consideration” from Premier League and TV broadcasters

Everton fans calls for “meaningful consideration” from the Premier League and TV broadcasters, amid the latest selections.

The club’s Fan Advisory Board (FAB), have come out in criticism after yet another last-minute fixture rescheduling.

A home game was moved to a Monday evening, the seventh such change this season, with the FAB making a statement while also asking Everton to actively support match-going fans by challenging the frequency of changes and pushing for better mitigations, as well as planning to raise the issue with the authorities.

@EFC_FanAdvisory tweeted: “FAB statement about the re-scheduling of fixtures and our call for meaningful consideration to be given to fans by the PL and broadcasters, and for robust Club support on behalf of its fans.”

In their statement, they wrote: “The decision to move yet another home fixture to a Monday evening, the seventh such change this season, is yet another signal of the disregard footballing authorities and broadcasters have for football supporters.

“It has become a pattern that is placing unacceptable strain on supporters, forcing fans to absorb additional travel costs, rearrange work and family commitments, and navigate significant logistical challenges at short notice.

“We fully understand the commercial realities and importance of broadcasting revenues. However, the cumulative effect of these decisions is now materially damaging supporter accessibility, matchday experience, and long-term engagement. This is happening at a time when fans are already under financial pressure due to the wider cost of living and the Club’s transition to a new stadium.

“We are receiving consistent feedback from match going supporters that they are being asked to carry a disproportionate share of the game’s commercial burden – and that loyalty and trust is being endlessly stretched with little regard for the consequences.

“We will be raising the concerns of Evertonians directly with the broadcasters and the Premier League.

“We have also written to the Club with a request to discuss the implications of this latest round of changes and seek its support in advocating for Everton supporters in discussions about scheduling changes, in challenging their frequency, in ensuring meaningful mitigations are provided and in acknowledging the impact these changes have on supporters.

Everton fans calls for “meaningful consideration” from Premier League and TV broadcasters…

@DavidParky18: Can they start refunding child season tickets. Cus my lads missed a bulk of home games rearranged to night fixture on school nights during term time. Can’t sell the ticket as its a single seat and cant pass it to anyone due to daft rules . One less fan for large home games.

@younglion1989: All these problems can be solved by one simple thing, stop the 3pm blackout and show all games on TV, the rest of the world can watch our game but we can’t wtf is that all about

@BlueBren: An excellent letter. Gets numerous points over in a succinct manner. Well done.

@EFCAL1878: The club dont care, not worth paper its written on unfortunately. Everton are a business not a football club to appease a fans now unfortunately so when selected for tv they are delighted as its extra revenue. Covid showed theyd not be assed if fans werent there aslong tv money is

@Pauldalby8: Spot on, well done. No consideration for fans and travel !!

@Adi18781: Here here ruined my experience of the first season ticket.

@matt_johnson_89: Can fully sympathise considering how often we’ve been picked for Monday matches this season- with more still to come. It’s more clear than ever that broadcasters could not care less about match going fans

@GaryBri99293774: Honest answer please. Do you expect a reply from the club that gives a genuine explanation as to why this is being allowed to happen or is this just a token statement. Can anyone explain why this fixture can’t be played Saturday or Sunday

@joe_thomas18: Everton’s fan advisory board set out their concerns after yet another game (Man City) is moved to a Monday night TV demands + European schedule both key factors but a heavy burden is being placed on match-going fans, one having an impact on the atmosphere and the team

@S44_Toffee: Perfectly said, was hoping to make the City and/or Sunderland games before season ends now it’s unlikely I’ll get to go. I live 3 hrs from HD and work in the week so these games moving are making it impossible to get, I’m a member but that seems a waste of money now to be honest

@JohnKeys542207: Needs calling out because it’s beyond the joke now 😡😡

@GazNorm15: Good letter well done.. we have to constantly stick up for ourselves and continually complain!! That goes throughout the club with decisions like this and all the guinea pig decisions we get against us as a club on the pitch!

@kev83mav: Would be great to see a ruling that teams must play a minimum of 10 home games at 3pm and 9 spread across the other slots. I know it won’t happen like but would be better than this!

@mcfcsince1894: Good to see other clubs taking a stance with this -we get pelters for empty seats -truth is everyone has them and we all know why…travel is chaos and work patterns mean it’s impossible for some fans to attend, they then get punished, for not attending! Ludicrous situation ⚽💙

@UT_1878_FT: Good letter, let’s hope @Everton back the fans

@thomasLatchford: My last season this unfortunately, if I can attend midweek games and it’s a big IF due to my shifts at work then I don’t really enjoy it due to the time I get home, can’t really have a pint as I’m up at 4.50am the next day, totally ruined it for me

@robgalkoff: 7th Monday night game of the season is a disgrace.

@AndyWood23: Great to hear, unfortunately I feel as though the two memberships paid for this season have been a waste of money. Living in North Yorkshire making midweek games is unrealistic owing to work. Even weekend games are an extravagance owing to the logistics of getting to the ground.
