English football ticket prices from 1981 once again go viral and even after all these years, it continues to astound people.
A photo of a newspaper shows how much it cost fans to attend matches, with prices revealed for standing, sitting and season tickets within Division One, Two, Three and Four.
Year-on-year supporters are spending more and more money as clubs look to squeeze out every penny they can from loyal fans, with the price of going to the game the highest its ever been.

One newspaper in particular from the 1980s was stunned at the thought of having to pay over £80 to buy a season ticket at Arsenal…
£1 in 1980 equates to roughly £4.50 in today’s money of the future. One scaled up £84 season ticket at the Gunners in that time would cost approximately £385 in today’s money.
