The FA Trophy was back in action this weekend but unfortunately majority of it fell foul to the weather, it didn’t stop there being upsets however.
It was the First Qualifying Round which included teams from tiers 7 and 8. Eight sides managed to cause a shock against opponents in a higher league than themselves.

@AFCSudbury A Few images from today's 2-0 win in the #FATrophy vs Harrow Borough. Some gutsy play out there against higher league opposition. Real fight. Love it. A poachers finish apiece from Billy Holland and Sean Marks pic.twitter.com/9IwNTBcoj8

Maldon & Tiptree seem to love a cup run, first the FA Cup and now the FA Trophy. They progressed through by beating Cray Wanderers 3-0. Danny Parish scored a brace just before and after the break before Jorome Slew grabbed his side’s third of the afternoon.
Also through to the Second Qualifying Round is Aveley who won 3–0 against Bowers & Pitsea. All of the goals came in the first half, Alexander Akrofi on the 5th minute, Jason Raad doubling the leader and an own goal from Kenzer Lee on the stroke of half time.

Whitehawk also seal their place into tomorrow’s draw after beating Hendon 4-1. Connor Tighe scored twice in 20 minutes before Hendon’s Connor Calcutt got one back, David Martin however scored from the spot to restore the home side’s two goal lead then Lewis Unwin made it four.
Basildon United and Chesham United played out an entertaining game, but it was the hosts that went through after winning 5-3. Ayomikun Odukoya (51′, 88′), Ernest Okoh (55′), Adam Vyse (61′) and Harry Norman (89′) all scoring for the home side.
