Ten non league sides caused FA Cup upsets whilst playing out their First Qualifying Round matches over the weekend.
A total of 232 teams took part in this stage of the competition, including the 160 winners from the Preliminary Round and 72 entering at this stage from the four leagues at Level 7 of English football. The round included seven teams from Level 10, the lowest-ranked teams still in the competition.
There were four clubs from Level 9 that beat teams from a league higher than themselves, they were 1874 Northwich who beat Pickering Town 2-0, Abbey Rangers who came away with 1-0 win at Whitehawk, Badshot Lea beat South Park 3-1 and Walthamstow who won 3-0 thanks to being handed three penalties at Aylesbury United.

The other six upsets were from those at Level 8 against teams in Level 7. Marine knocked out Stalybridge Celtic with a 2-0 victory away from home. Highlights of that one can be seen below.
Trafford smashed three past Bamber Bridge to bag a place in tomorrow’s draw.

Whyteleafe did so by the same scoreline against Merstham as did Cirencester Town against Gosport Borough and there was goals galore at Ware as they found the net five times to beat Leiston 5-1.

The draw which is expected tomorrow, will see the 44 teams from the National League North and South included, setting up no doubt some exciting ties.
The games will be played over the weekend of Saturday, September 21.
