Here’s what fans said back a few months back amid the EFL Championship Outright Title Winner, Promotion, and Relegation odds being revealed…

@Tristan24_K:
Championship
Champions 🏆: Ipswich
Other team(s) to be promoted : Southampton & Coventry
Relegated teams ⬇️: Wednesday, Hull, Oxford
Biggest surprise (good or bad): Derby
Top scorer ⚽️: Archer
Top assister 🅰️: Mavididi
Team with most clean sheets: Coventry

@H4W93: Derby and Oxford relegated, Wrexham won’t make the play-offs. Portsmouth to be the Surprise team this season.

@GiallorossiBlue:
My Championship 1-24 and predictions:
Champions: Ipswich
2nd automatic spot: Southampton
Playoff winners: Coventry
Relegated: Preston, Hull, and Sheffield Wednesday
Top scorer: Sammie Szmodics
POTS: Jade Philogen
Most importantly, I have Rovers in 6th

@Rumbugger1: There’s a lot picking Preston to be relegated. Bad second half to last season but we’ll be a stronger team this coming season.

@jboyms: Leicester City and Sheffield United top two, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City bottom three. If SWFC escape a big points deduction for financial irregularities, then they should escape the bottom three and Charlton could be one of the three.

@fishingnotwork: A lot of Leicester top 2 predictions. They’re likely to have a substantial points deduction, manager issues, financial issues, fans protesting against the board. That’d be some turnaround

@chris_paget: Derby will be nowhere near a relegation battle. Top 6 manager and squad will improve from last season (assuming no investment), with rumoured impending investment….who knows what we could do. Definitely looking up as a club again

@MarkWatkins210: I think Sheffield Utd will fall away considerably after the disappointment of last season’s p/offs. I also think Wrexham’s luck will run out (relegation) but Birmingham City will finish Top 6. I fancy Southampton to go up & Bristol C, Norwich mid-table / lower.

@theburnxngwolf:
Automatic promotion:
1. Birmingham 2. Bristol City
Playoffs:
3. Sheffield United 4. Coventry 5. Southampton 6. West Brom
Winners: West Brom
Relegation:
22. Ipswich 23. Hull 24. Sheffield Wednesday

@TheTIGriff:
1st Ipswich
2nd Coventry
Boro win play offs (cov and Boro joined at the hip)
Playoffs
Southampton
Leicester
Sheffield United
Relegated
Wrexham
Stoke
Charlton

@AlfieRatcliffe2:
1) Southampton
2) Leicester (but if they get a points deduction Ipswich)
Playoffs – Coventry
22) Oxford
23) Derby
24) Stoke
Charlton & Hull will scrape survival

@blra1973:
TOP 2: Ipswich, Southampton
PLAYOFFS: Birmingham, Sheff Utd, Norwich, Leicester
RELEGATION: Hull, Blackburn, Oxford

@JSG_1875:
Southampton & Ipswich autos
Cov, sheff Utd, West Brom blues play offs
Watford, sheff Wednesday Oxford down

@JamesPNEFC1:
Leicester and Ipswich (Southampton win play offs)
Hull, Watford, Oxford Utd

@M28Wood: Thing with Saints is, it’s kind of impossible to tell, with transfers still up in the air. Keep Ramsdale, Harwood-Bellis, Fernandes, Dibling, and that’s a title winning team. Lose all four throughout August, then it’s probably a play-off push only. Got lots of deadwood still too.

@Vince_Marcs: Southampton with Will Still in charge and the lack of debt will win it, Ipswich a close second 🙌🏽

@Culletonfox: Ipswich, Sheffield united, Leicester – play off win against Cov. Charlton, Portsmouth, Sheffield Wednesday

@NobbyTubb:
Middlesborough to get promoted
Birmingham Play Offs
Charlton to finish 8th
Sheffield Utd and Ipswich to be 16th or below
Preston / Hull / Oxford to be relegated

@RyanEvans29:
Promotion Ipswich and Sheffield United
Relegation – Hull City, Oxford United, Stoke City
