Draws made for FA Trophy First Round and FA Vase Second Round

Draws have been made this afternoon for this season’s FA Trophy First Round and FA Vase Second Round stages of the competition.

There was plenty of confusion going into Monday afternoon’s draw, with fans unsure whether ties can go ahead or not due to England being put into a second lockdown for November, but that could potentially be extended.

Some ties from the previous round of both competitions still need playing out. Competition rules state that rearranged FA Vase First Round ties must be completed by this weekend or clubs risk forfeiting their place.

22 sides are scheduled to play ties in lockdown, it’s not clear if they should now try to play before Thursday.

FA Trophy First Round ties are penciled in for Saturday the 14th of November with all teams involved are non-elite.

Ollie Bayliss said prior to the draw that he’d, “Imagine that will be pushed back. Same with the next round of the FA Vase.”

The Premier League, EFL, and National League along with its North and South divisions can continue to play, however leagues/tiers below look set to come to a halt again, however there has been no official confirmation.

Whilst we’re talking about other competitions, one of the biggest question marks was currently over the FA Cup. The First Round takes place next weekend. Whilst elite sport can continue in lockdown, 10 clubs involved fall into the ‘non-elite’ bracket.

The Government has confirmed that the 10 ‘non-elite’ clubs CAN play in the FA Cup this weekend. The FA “remain in regular dialogue with the Government in relation to both men’s and women’s ‘non-elite’ football and will provide a further update on this in due course.”
