Dorking boss gives extraordinary interview with boob analogy after thrashing by Wrexham

Dorking boss Marc White gives an extraordinary interview with a boob analogy Ian Holloway would be proud of after the thrashing by Wrexham.

The Wanderers fell to a 5-0 defeat at home to the National League title favourites, but it wasn’t just the scoreline that fans were talking about post-match.

The two sides are at opposite ends of the table, with Wrexham backed by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney hoping this is finally the season they win promotion.

Truth be told, despite it being early, Dorking are looking at a tough relegation scrap unless they improve their form, and this was reflected with Wrexham running riot, Ollie Palmer netting a hat-trick too.

After the game, Dorking boss Marc White produced a boob analogy to describe their poor performance, which you can see below.

Following a humiliating defeat, Dorking boss White said: “We can’t defend for s***. And at the moment, if we fell in a barrel full of tits we’d come out sucking our thumb, that’s the bottom line.”

This had fans recalling the moment Ian Holloway said the same sort of quote a while back. On a particularly poor run at QPR, he said: “I’ve had such bad luck at the moment that if I fell in a barrel of boobs I’d come out sucking my thumb.”

Wrexham fans have praised the “class act” of Dorking Wanderers chairman Marc White pre-match.

Jamie O’Hara and his brother were among the Wrexham fans who travelled to Sussex and with a couple of hours until kick-off, the pair had settled in the first pub they could find – The Surrey Yeoman – when the Dorking chairman walked in.

Jamie explained: “I was stood at the bar chatting to my brother and Marc White walked in and turned to us and said ‘Welcome to Dorking lads, have a few beers on me.’ He then handed me the cash, left the pub and I popped it in a jar on the bar, which was guarded closely by another Wrexham fan – all 6ft 4ins of him.”

Jamie shared the unexpected gesture on Twitter, writing: “@DorkingWDRS boss & owner walks into the pub and hands me £300 beer tab for @Wrexham_AFC away fans.” And it wasn’t long until the news spread.

“Word got around quite quickly and the jar with the money was emptied in 30 minutes,” said Jamie. “Enough time though for everyone to have a drink each and toast the generosity of Dorking’s owner.” Less than an hour after his initial tweet, Jamie wrote “Update: it’s gone.”

The Surrey Yeoman pub crowded with Wrexham AFC fans

Wrexham turned on an impressive display at Dorking to secure a fourth straight win with Ollie Palmer’s header putting them ahead before Jacob Mendy’s 20-yard shot doubled the lead.

Palmer claimed the third, but Dorking’s Luke Moore looked to have had the final touch from Ben Tozer’s throw.

Four minutes after the break, Palmer netted from Jordan Davies’ shot across the face of goal before Elliot Lee sealed victory.

Phil Parkinson’s side, who have scored 16 goals in four games, remain a point behind leaders Chesterfield in second spot while Dorking are down in 18th.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson said:

“It was a really good solid performance first and foremost without the ball. I thought everyone did their jobs out of possession.

“There was a real tightness about us today when we didn’t have the ball and I enjoy watching that as much as scoring the goal.

“It took us a couple of games to really get into our stride but we’ve still picked up results so it’s a progression from where we’ve been going.

“We were absolutely clinical when we got in that final third and in reality we could have scored more.”
