Derby owner explains decision to sack Richard Keogh but keep Tom Lawrence and Mason Bennett

After finding out what Mel Morris had to say on his decision to sack Richard Keogh but not Mason Bennett and Tom Lawrence, fans took to Twitter to voice their reaction with many Leeds fans angry…

@billywigwam13: Derby County are a club with no moral compass. Basically,Mel Morris saying that Lawrence & Bennett would cost too much to get rid of & have a sell on value. So despite what they have done Derby will not sack them. #CrookedMel

@brookesy187: Is he also suggesting that preventing the other two from getting a signing fee and higher salary elsewhere, and still having to face the fans each week, is actually some kind of punishment?

@BarryWHamilton1: But he can spend 80 million on buying his own ground. ??

@AnalyticsForest: Could he explain how he gets a lifetime achievement award at the Derby sports awards too? Everyone else is baffled ?

@LondonLeedsfan: Blimey Mr Moral can’t help himself but try and drag Leeds into his hypothetical nonsense….and his whole point is bollocks, nobody would call for a player to be sacked for drinking, they think they should be sacked for drink driving and ruining a fellow professionals career

@lufchris: So the punishment is to have to stay with Derby? Makes sense.

@Hoveseagull: Hilarious his explanation ignores the fact that no one cares if the players got drunk. When I’ve been drinking I’ve never felt the need to jump in to car and then wrap it round a lamp post….
