Derby County say sorry to Charlton Athletic for ‘unacceptable behaviour’ from an idiot fan who tried to ruin the minute’s applause.
The Rams were left “incredibly disappointed” after a spectator from the packed out away end at The Valley decided to make his way onto the pitch.
Charlton organised the gesture in memory of three ex-players, Graham Tutt, Phil Walker and Brian Tocknell, who had passed away this summer.
A Derby supporter came onto the pitch during this point and bizarrely thought he was clever in taking the corner flag before being caught by stewards/security and ejected out of the ground.

The club have released a statement apologising to the Addicks for the incident and say that they will work with the relevant authorities to identify the individual and take action – especially keeping in mind the new EFL crackdown on fan behaviour.
“We are incredibly disappointed to learn that an individual from the away end at The Valley encroached onto the playing surface prior to kick-off this afternoon whilst a minuteās applause was taking place in memory of former Charlton Athletic players who had recently passed away,” the statement read.
“We will work with the relevant authorities to establish the identity of the individual and take subsequent action as a club.
“As stressed by The FA, Premier League and EFL ahead of the start of the season, these acts are dangerous, illegal and have severe consequences.
“All identified offenders are reported by clubs to the police and prosecution could result in a permanent criminal record, which may affect their employment or education and could lead to a prison sentence.
“We would also like to apologise to Charlton Athletic for having to tolerate this unacceptable behaviour whilst paying tribute to players that represented their club with distinction.”
Disappointing that some mug has ran on from the away stand and grabbed a corner flag during a minuteās applause for Graham Tutt, Phil Walker and Brian Tocknell. Weird behaviour #cafc pic.twitter.com/fZ79WBRV3O

The match itself saw Corey Blackett-Taylor score the only goal as Charlton recovered from a slow start to beat a wasteful Derby at The Valley and stay unbeaten after two League One matches.
The home side were fortunate to be level at the interval after Liam Rosenior’s side created and wasted a slew of chances in the south London heat.
Striker James Collins guided his ninth-minute shot too close to Charlton goalkeeper Joe Wollacott and then struck another effort against the woodwork in the final act of the first half.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing also tested Wollacott on two occasions as Derby dominated going forward.
Charlie Kirk fed Albie Morgan, whose saw his rising shot parried carelessly into the path of Blackett-Taylor by Derby keeper Joe Wildsmith and the winger tapped into an empty net with ease.
Morgan, whose game management drove Charlton on in the second half, almost made it 2-0, though his low shot was turned around the post by Wildsmith.
Twitter users react as Derby County say sorry to Charlton for ‘unacceptable behaviour’ from the idiot fan…
@SamBowerCafc: wanker
@RBooth9: What is the point of doing this? No doubt a banning order and achieving absolutely nothing
@Ulieaddick: Yeah ran on and then stood there like a plank cos he didnāt know what to do then. Most embarrassing thing Iāve seen in ages š aside from this tool Derby fans were a good bunch.
@iainjennison: Bloke was an idiot and we (#dcfcfans) let him know what we thought of him
@Glovepup: I have respect for #dcfc fans and am friends with a couple, I know they will disown this clown. What a strange thing to do.
@GaryBul28058986: Sad to see…. security didn’t exactly run on to get him off the field quickly…. hope they gave him a couple of jabs in the ribs as they took him off the field
@jbennett1997: Will get a 3 year ban, didnāt see the match and his team lost for his efforts you love to see it #CAFC
@PhilReddy1: Appalling behaviour but very pleasing to hear DCFC s reaction, letās hope they back it up and do something about it.
@ramsfan0285: Itāll be the Stella and Cocaine cocktail heās been taking. Thatās one fan whoāll have plenty of time to reflect during his 2 year ban

@Jonnogreig: 3 year banning order coming up. š
@CBLG7: What a disrespectful div
@DM54059469: Fair play to @dcfcofficial fans they were all singing at him in disgust as well š
@HiltonRam1: Embarrassing showed a completely lack of respect to the the occasion, like a lot on here have said hope he gets a banning order for the longest period of time ever. Also as some have said he quite rightly got a lot of abuse from DCFC fans who were all joining in with the clapping
@Matthew_Ring: Possibly the most pathetic way ever to get a banning orderā¦
@MrRamtastic: Hope he never gets to go to a match again, what a tit.
@Garybuzzcurtis: Absolute dickhead.
@DamianJWalters: To be fair, even the away fans were calling him a w@nĀ„ā¬r š¤£š¤£š¤£

@LewisH92: Running on a pitch during a goal celebration is understandable. But during a minutes applause? Weird behaviour
