Derby County continue to stun fans as they make over 10 summer signings, something which was much needed ready for 2022/23.
We all knew it would be a race against time for the Rams to get fixed up and ready for the new campaign, the delay in getting a takeover meaning they’ve have to act fast in bringing in practically a whole new team.
Last month saw David Clowes complete his takeover of the newly relegated club, with Liam Rosenior bringing in ten players as he looks to build a team capable of challenging for promotion this season.
That’s it, they are ready to get back to the Championship at the first attempt and Derby are now on the verge of another another few transfers, reports revealing that Korey Smith, who is available on a free transfer as his deal with Swansea expired in the summer, is poised to join. Derby County are also lining up a move to sign Northampton Town’s Ali Koiki.
DERBY SUMMER SIGNINGS SO FAR
Barkhuizen has agreed terms on a two-year deal, which will run until the summer of 2024, after successfully completing a medical examination
The 28-year-old has linked up with the Rams after five-and-a-half-years on the books at Preston North End in the Championship, where he racked up just over 200 appearances.
The versatile forward, who can operate out wide on either side, will provide a strong attacking option for Derby to call upon and Barkhuizen offers welcome experience with almost 400 career outings to his name in league football.

Derby County have moved to rebuild their goalkeeping department by completing the signing of former England youth international Joe Wildsmith.
Wildsmith, 26, has joined the Rams as a free agent and penned a two-year contract that will run until the summer of 2024.
The shot-stopper spent the early part of pre-season training with Derby’s squad and has now put pen-to-paper after agreeing terms and successfully completing a medical examination.
He will work under the watchful eye of Head Goalkeeping Coach Jason Pearcey as the Rams prepare for the 2022/23 campaign with a new-look goalkeeping group following the recent departures of Ryan Allsop and Kelle Roos.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has become Derby County’s third new signing of the summer.
The 30-year-old winger has today put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal after successfully completing a medical examination.
Mendez-Laing joins Derby as a free agent after recently leaving Sheffield Wednesday and his arrival comes a day after Clowes Developments (UK) Ltd completed their takeover of the club.
The wideman, who has played in the Premier League and right across the EFL in his career, will offer another exciting attacking option in the Rams’ squad and is under contract until the summer of 2024.
Birmingham-born Mendez-Laing, previously capped by England at youth international level, will offer welcome experience to the dressing room with almost 350 career outings to his name so far.

Midfielder Conor Hourihane is looking forward to the start of a new project after signing a two-year contract with Derby County.
The 31-year-old joined the Rams after leaving Premier League side Aston Villa earlier this summer.
The Republic of Ireland international has played at every level of the English pyramid but now, in the prime of his career, he believes in the rebuild project taking place at Pride Park Stadium this season.

Defender James Chester believes the opportunity to achieve something special and be part of the journey with Derby County was too good a chance to turn down.
The 33-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Rams after his time at Stoke City came to an end following the conclusion of the 2021/22 campaign.
Chester has played the majority of his football in both the Premier League and Championship and is another experienced head to add to the ranks at Pride Park Stadium, having amassed over 400 appearances in his career.

Experienced frontman David McGoldrick is another addition to Derby County’s new-look squad.
McGoldrick, 34, has linked up with the Rams on a one-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2023, after recently leaving Championship outfit Sheffield United.
The striker has recorded over 500 appearances in the professional game, scoring 125 goals to date, and has also performed at international level for the Republic of Ireland.
McGoldrick has successfully completed a medical examination and is the latest new signing through the door as Derby prepare for the upcoming 2022/23 Sky Bet League One season at the end of July.

Derby County have signed Haydon Roberts on loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The England youth international defender will spend the entire 2022/23 campaign with Derby as part of the next stage of his career development.
Brighton-born Roberts came through the youth ranks at his hometown club and will provide the Rams with another defensive option to call upon for the upcoming League One campaign.
The left-footed defender can play at left-back or in central defence and has made a handful of appearances for the Seagulls’ first-team in cup competitions.

Derby County have added significant experience to their goalkeeping department with the addition of Scott Loach.
The 34-year-old has linked up with Derby from National League side Chesterfield to offer plenty of know-how and understanding to the Rams’ goalkeepers throughout the week in training and on matchdays.
Loach, who is approaching 500 games in English football’s top five leagues, has penned a one-year deal which will run for the 2022/23 season.
The former England Under-21 international’s arrival is the second summer addition to the goalkeeping team, led by Head Goalkeeping Coach Jason Pearcey, follow the signing of Joe Wildsmith from Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.

Striker James Collins is delighted to link up with many familiar faces in the squad as he sets his sights on earning his sixth promotion in his career with Derby County.
The 31-year-old has penned a two-year contract at Pride Park Stadium and becomes the eighth player to commit his future to the football club, alongside friends Conor Hourihane, David McGoldrick and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing to name a few.
Collins is no stranger to League One football having helped Luton Town to promotion from the division during the 2018/29 campaign, and his 25 goals secured him the League One Player of the Season.
And now, after spending a season with Championship side Cardiff City, he is keen for a new challenge and is aiming high ahead of Derby’s Sky Bet League One campaign.

Derby County have completed the signing of promising young defender Kwaku Oduroh.
The 19-year-old has joined the Rams on a two-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2024, after recently leaving Premier League champions Manchester City.
Oduroh impressed in a 45-minute showing in Derby’s 2-0 friendly win at League Two side Bradford City last Saturday with the right-back featuring in the first half at Valley Parade.
His performance, as well as catching the eye in training with the Rams’ squad during pre-season, has seen him earn a permanent deal at Pride Park Stadium.

@PaulLongden6: The signings made by LR sanctioned by DC have brought a real sense of optimism. Many are coming because of who is here and who we are- not because of who has left. Great to feel so positive- hats of you the manager and new owner #dcfc #dcfcfans
@Gas_Panik: I really hope we can hit the ground running with these new signings, if it takes a bit of time then so be it, but I’d love a good start to the season. 🤞🏻 #dcfc
@dcfcg02: Absolutely delighted mate to tell you the truth, I echo with what others have said, two weeks ago we were praying on a miracle to happen after all of the failed takeovers and false promises made by the administrators.
Korey Smith is a terrific player that can operate in both central and holding midfield.
He’s great on the ball, is a good ball winner, and has a superb engine. He’ll definitely add solidity.
Have a feeling he’s our Bielik replacement! 🐏 #DCFC
