Today is one of the biggest days in the club’s 145-year history with the threat of liquidation and have their results removed and potentially have to reform in the non league areas of the English football pyramid.

The Championship strugglers requested for an adjournment for two weeks as there is a buyer who is willing to clear the debts.
It has been announced that that is what they have got, it has been adjourned until the 3rd of April as quite a few fans expected. The judge wants a payment by that date to avoid a winding-up order, which would leave them facing administration or liquidation and a points deduction.
BBC Sport have stated that “the potential new buyer is said to already own a major stake in a ‘high-level football club’.
A supporting statement from the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust was supplied to the court.
It read: “Ahead of today’s court hearing of the HMRC petition, the BWFCST would hope that all parties will show tolerance and understanding in preserving the existence of our club for the benefit of the supporters, the club employees and the greater Bolton community.
“Whilst fully understanding the confidences and complexities of the detailed negotiations involved in concluding a sale of the club, we would hope that, on behalf of the supporters and the community, as much clarity as possible can be given to all interested parties as these negotiations proceed.
“BWFCST have been contacted by interested parties and have agreed to and have been assisting in whichever capacity and to whatever extent our constitution allows.
“We trust this confirms our current position with regards to ensuring the continuing existence of BWFC.”
