There were crazy scenes with League of Ireland match Derry v Shamrock being halted after a child picks up a FLARE and runs across the pitch.
The game had already been an intense one, with both teams vying for the title. The visitors, Shamrock Rovers, went ahead just before the hour mark through Aaron Greene.
Shortly after, the 34-year-old added a second goal, followed by Richie Towell scoring the third for Stephen Bradley’s side.
Derry City to score a consolation goal through substitute Pat Hoban, but the deficit was too large to overcome.
Unfortunately, the hosts’ night took a turn for the worse in stoppage time when a flare was chucked from the stands onto the pitch, causing a small fire to the astro turf beside the touchline.
One user uploaded a video of the incident, and said: ‘Flare thrown onto side of pitch at Brandywell, probably burning a chunk of the astro, then a child runs onto pitch, picks up flare and runs off with it. Totally normal’

Shortly after, order was reinstated, with the final minute of stoppage time played without any further disruptions.
The result meant that Shamrock climbed to third place in the standings, leapfrogging Derry City in the Premier Division table.
Shamrock have won the title for the past four consecutive years and are currently trailing league leaders Shelbourne by three points with a game in hand.
Police are also investigating trouble which took place after the game.
As per Belfast Telegraph, fans were also made to gather in the centre circle after the final whistle as order was restored.
Police responded to incidents near the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium also came under attack from missiles, with some PSNI vehicles damaged.
Officers said they dealt with disorder in the Lone Moor Road area of Derry.
Chief Inspector Moyne said: “Officers intervened following public disorder after a football match in the area.
“When responding to the incident, masonry was thrown at police. There have been no reports of injury at this time, however it was reported that a large group of young people were involved in the damage of a number of police vehicles.
“The group dispersed and a policing presence will remain in the area.
“Footage obtained by our evidence gathering team will form part of the investigation.”
