Connor Wickham Attracting Interest from the Robins

Connor Wickham is reportedly attracting interest from Bristol City who could be tempted to battle Birmingham City for his signature. As contract talks between the Robins and star striker Famara Diedhiou have stalled, Bristol City might have no option but to sell to recoup a fee and bring in another striker.

Wickham has struggled for minutes at Premier League Crystal Palace having not appeared in a single match for the Eagles. The 27-year finds himself down the pecking order at Selhurst Park behind the likes of Jordan Ayew and Michy Batshuayi while numerous injuries will have hardly helped his cause.

Since joining the Eagles in 2015, Wickham has missed close to 100 matches through injury. He will hope that those injury problems are behind him and will be eager to get regular minutes somewhere.

Wickham actually boasts a decent record at Championship level scoring 24 goals in 100 appearances. More a target man, Wickham has never been classed as a prolific striker but the type that can bring others into the game. His presence up front will be what the Robins manager Dean Holden will be looking for.

This move could be more out of necessity than desire if contract talks between Famara Diedhiou and the club are not sorted out quickly. It is reported that Middlesborough are waiting in the wings to sign the forward and Bristol City may not be in a position to say no to the move with their players contract running down.

Either way, sitting in 10th in the league, the Robins will want to make a strong push towards the playoffs in the second half of the season and will be searching for the right players to help them achieve that.

Live Streams For Championship Side Bristol City

Bristol City are at home to Preston North End in their upcoming Championship fixture this Saturday and will be hoping to avenge the reverse fixture just a month ago which Preston ran out 1-0 winners. City are the favourites to win but this will not be an easy fixture. At the same time, it will be an exciting one and one available for live streaming.

That said, Preston themselves will be looking to give viewers streaming the game a show as they need to bounce back after a shock 4-1 mauling at Championship new boys Wycombe Wanderers last time out. As such, this is one of those matches that are too close to call much like many others in the Championship.

We recommend steaming this game as it will be one worth watching and if you do feel like viewing it, check out live stream services such as the 101great goals live streaming page can help you to find where you can watch the match online live.

Bristol City are in the chasing pack with a number of other clubs for the playoffs and will know that now is the time to push on. The bookies are not convinced they will do it this season but as we know, there are usually plenty of surprises in the Championship.

Move Could Spell the End for Antoine Semenyo

While Robins fans would likely welcome Wickham with open arms, one player is likely to suffer if he was to arrive. Antoine Semenyo is already behind the likes of Chris Martin, Nahki Wells, and Famara Diedhiou (though he may not be here once Wickham arrives) for minutes up top and Wickham would likely push him further down.

The forward has been limited to just 12 starts this season but has struggled with goals having none to his name so far. That puts the youngster on 36 appearances for the Robins with just a solitary goal coming in the EFL Cup in September.

In the last January window, Semenyo was sent out on loan to League 1 Sunderland for the rest of the season and you can only imagine that Wickham coming in would trigger a similar move.
