Our live stream ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Premier League match Chelsea v Tottenham live match stream is now up, kicking off at 4:30pm.
You can keep an eye on the commentary as it happens below, but first, we take a preview into the fixture, lineups, predictions and much more
In each side’s previous game, Chelsea assured a top-two finish in the Champions League Group E courtesy of late winner from Olivier Giroud. Next they face Spurs who sit top of the Premier League table.
Carlos Vinicius scored his first Tottenham goals since sealing a loan move from Benfica, Harry Winks scored a stunning long-range effort for his first goal since January 2019, and three Spurs youngsters made debuts from the bench late on.
PRESS CONFERENCES:
Frank Lampard on team news:
Team news is that we are as we were. Christian Pulisic is back in, Kai Havertz was getting some minutes the other week.
On Tottenham:
It is extra special because of the rivalry between the two teams, it adds spice. It remains special and because of the league positions, it is important.
On the the title race
I understand Jose’s answer, that is the position we should be in. The marker has been set by those two teams, I feel his position.
On Mourinho matches
It is important to approach the games against all the touches. This is what you want to be in this job for, to compete against the best.
On Pulisic
To start is a question. Every player coming back is more difficult to start because of what is going on.
On Spurs’ summer
They have bought in some experienced players, top level players that will strengthen their squad and it was a strong squad anyway. It was shown last night in the Europa League.
On needing to beat Tottenham
When you play rivals, it is important to try and win those games for confidence. In the bigger picture, there is a long way to go.
Will you have to think about when to attack?
You have to respect Tottenham and the way they are and the quality they have. They have ways where they can put pressure on you, they can counter attack but I am not relying on that. You can’t look past Harry Kane’s relationship with Son at the moment.
Selection dilemmas
It is difficult but it is probably difficult for Tottenham as well. At the moment, I am happy with the level of competition at the moment. We come up against a Tottenham team similar to ourselves in depth, we saw that last night.
Hugo Lloris, Steven Bergwijn and Giovani Lo Celso were all absent from Thursday night’s Europa League win against Ludogorets – were they likely to be fit for Sunday?
Jose: “I want to believe, yes. We could push, but we didn’t want to risk. If I wanted to push, if I wanted to risk a little, they would do it, but 12 players on the bench (in Europe) gives you space for everything, even to have a 16-year-old kid in there and give him a chance to make history with Tottenham. With 12 (on the bench), Aurier right-back, Reguilon left-back, Dier centre-back, Sissoko midfield, you have players in every position.”
Jose was asked what it was like going back to Stamford Bridge, where he had so much success as Chelsea manager…
Jose: “It’s another game for me, another game. No problem at all.”
Jose was asked if there was any extra pressure going into this weekend top of the Premier League, and if we and Chelsea could continue to challenge Liverpool and City…
Jose: “Maybe we don’t go there top, maybe Liverpool get a point or a victory at Brighton (on Saturday) and then we don’t go there top of the league, so we don’t know. Going there top or Liverpool top doesn’t change anything for us. As I’ve said since the beginning of the season, we are only contenders to win the next match, nothing more. So, we are going to be there, three possible results, we know anything could happen, but we go there and our objective is to win the game.”
Speaking to Spurs TV, Jose was asked what he expected from Chelsea on Sunday…
Jose: “It’s always difficult to play Chelsea. If I’m not wrong, the last 16 years they won the Premier League five times, and they didn’t finish in the Champions League positions only once, so this is a team that is used to playing for titles, lots of players, big investments, great squad. They have an amazing squad, so I’m not even worried about who is going to play, because they only have very good players.”
What will we have to do to go to Chelsea and win?
Jose: “Score more goals than them! We go to win, like we always do. Against Manchester City, we went to win. It’s going to be difficult, but, not easy for them.”

THATSAGOAL TIPS:
Timo Werner Anytime Scorer – 6/4 with FanTeam
Chelsea’s unbeaten streak continued on Tuesday in the Champions League as the Blues keep winning. This is Frank Lampard’s strongest spell in charge and things are going well at both ends of the pitch.
Timo Werner has consistently gotten into dangerous positions and has four Premier League goals to his name after a slow start in front of goal. The German international may have wasted a few good chances last time out but if given the chance against a usually leaky Spurs, you’d be surprised if he didn’t take it.
Mark Lawrenson’s prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham
