Tottenham’s Harry Winks left the nation stunned when he scores from 56 yards out during the Europa League meeting with Ludogorets.
With 63 minutes on the clock the 24-year-old midfielder picked the ball up and spotting the keeper off his line, pinged an effort at goal.
Harry Winks hasn’t scored for almost two years but you wouldn’t know it with this goal. He gets the ball from a throw in some 50 yards out and he floats in an effort that goes over the goalkeeper and in off the underside of the bar.
Did he mean that!? Not sure. Winks has a massive, massive smile on his face. I’m sure he will say he did mean it, I know I would!
Harry Winks 🤯
Now, has he meant that, or was he looking for Gareth Bale?! #UEL pic.twitter.com/OvODPWi4rm

It nestled beautifully into the top-right hand corner leaving Dejan Iliev stunned.
Vinicious had earlier scored twice to put Jose Mourinho’s side firmly in the driving seat.
Winks was congratulated by his delighted, and somewhat stunned team-mates after the terrific goal.
Whether he meant it or not is another thing, with BT Sport’s commentary team hinting he might have meant the ball for Gareth Bale.
Former Spurs star Glenn Hoddle admitted he was left ‘hoping’ Winks did meant it.
Hoddle said: “I think he’s had a little look here.
“He’s got a little bit of time, and bang, I think he’s gone for it.
“And Iliev is strolling and thinks ‘I can just touch that over’.
“Is he going for Bale on the far post? Only Harry would know that.”
Carlos Vinicius calmly opened the scoring in the 16th minute, before tapping in a second in the 34th minute to make it 2-0 against the Bulgarians.

Minutes after, Ludogorets were punished for trying to play out from the back as Dele Alli wins possession, played an excellent ball to the middle of the box for Carlos Vinicius, who turned and fed Lucas Moura to hammer home, making it 4-0.

Harry Winks, speaking to BT Sport: “I’d love to sit here and say that I did, but I’ve got to be honest and say no. I saw Gaz (Gareth Bale) run in. I’ll take it at the end of the day.
“It has been a while (since I last scored) but I am happy with the way the team played.”
More from Harry Winks: “It was really enjoyable. We started with the right intensity because we didn’t give them any chance to be breath. It was a good game for us.”
On if he finds it difficult to be on the fringes of the team: “It is tough. It is very difficult. All I can do is when I get opportunities like this is play well.”
Fans reacted as Tottenham’s Harry Winks scores from 56 yards out, quickly seeing his name go to the top of the United Kingdom Twitter trends list…

If Harry Winks scoring from 50 yards doesn’t tell you that there’s something in the air at Tottenham this season then I don’t know what else to say to you.
