Chelsea players slammed by fans after being seen ‘ignoring’ young Hull mascots

‘Terrible look’ – Chelsea players have been slammed by fans after being seen ‘ignoring’ young Hull City mascots when arriving at the MKM Stadium.

The Blues face backlash after a video by the club showed them walking past excited young mascots, with not one player acknowledging them. Not a single wave, thumbs up or hand shake. Not even a glance.

The clip has since gone viral, getting over 2 million views, the anger from fans leading to the topic trending on Twitter trending.

Others have defended the players, arguing they were focused on the upcoming FA Cup match, and did go on to shake their hands with the opposition players on the pitch as the game was about to get underway.

Chelsea went on to win the game 4-0, thanks to Pedro Neto’s hat-trick and Estevao’s goal. See more on that HERE.

As mentioned, Chelsea players have been slammed by fans after being seen ‘ignoring’ young Hull mascots…

@OliLondonTV: Chelsea football players completely IGNORE children waiting to see them. The footballers have been slammed online after refusing to even acknowledge the children as they excitedly waited to see them.

@The_Forty_Four: Don’t you just love it when players give a couple seconds to the young kids that are buzzing to see them…Heartwarming stuff from the Chelsea players🤥😐

@Tgarratt10: Just put ya thumb up to the youngens ffs

@Alphaxxdr:
As a chelsea fan i genuinely felt the same way watching this
A simple wave or something
The kids were obviously there to welcome them
Despite their jerseys
A couple seconds would have made those kids so happy

@Carlton46647242: This is absolutely unfortunate. That’s why you don’t want to meet your hero because you will more often than not be disappointed.

@DEmbo1878: It’s sad you’ve had to explain to some! It’s obvious that these kids wether they support Hull, Bolton, Accrington Stanley or Torquay watch premier League football and think these players are super stars! Well at least you tried 😉✌️👍

@MartynHobbs12: This is were a captain needs to step up and the club liaison. Some of these chelsea players are academy kids too so there just following the others. Yes there rival supporters but they’re kids. It’s shocking behaviour

@andy_lawlor9: There are some exceptions but most players seem like they have no memory of being a child and the excitement of meeting a famous player. Just a joyless bunch of rich young men who are obviously too important to spend precious time with anybody unworthy and insignificant 🤨

@beverleyturner: Say hello to the children you fools!! You only kick balls for a living. But you would give these kids a massive thrill. Give them high fives! Anything!! Spoilt wallies……where is your humanity?

@lewistrhorobin: Not surprised- I took my lad to the hotel the team were staying at for a game a few months back. When the coach arrived, about 8 hours before the game, not a single player even acknowledged the fans waiting, and there was only about 10 of them.

Arrests made during Hull’s FA Cup tie with Chelsea over discriminatory chanting from fans

@alivcf1972: All it takes is 10 seconds. A photo, a hand slap, just something. I find it fucking disgusting when players walk past fans young and old and don’t acknowledge them. When we played Man City 12 years ago in the FA Cup. 1-1. Kolo Toure posed for every pic with everybody 👍🏼

@toe6276: Modern day footballers unfortunately, and the reason why I’m slowly falling out of love with the game, where have all the kids hero’s gone, football gone 😢

@worldgonemad74: As far as I am concerned, players should be made to remove headphones before stepping off their coach. They should be respectful of their opponents club and surroundings when they walk in there. It’s like a troop of Zombies walking through the place these days.

@mancityneil: There are people commenting on here defending this. What a world we live in

@jayjdubya: Disgusting, how can any of them walk past a group of kids like that – check out the photos and posts from Burton Albion fan’s kids, photos with many West Ham players, we do have some class even if it isn’t on the pitch – that said the last month 🙌🏼 ⚒️

@snapper8866: As a Chelsea fan when I first seen this yesterday morning my first thought was how bad it was that not one of them took any notice of them kids such a shame and such a bad look they need to do better that for sure

@MichelleDewbs: You should be ashamed your players act like this with these little boys. Instead, you’re proud and desperate to share it. Gross. #UTT

@Mstaz96: This sums up football and why I’m done with it, went rugby league last week took my lad and at least 10 players came over after the game and had pictures and had time for all the boys and girls stood waiting for them.

@richie_plant5: My lad was a mascot for the wolves the other year against away side man city, when they took him away to meet wolves players city were arriving and credit where credit’s due he came up buzzing as pep, haaland, grealish foden the lot of them had shook his hand.
