Burnley’s Scott Twine baffles fans with footage showing an embarrassing delayed roll in the Championship clash vs Millwall.
The Clarets have dominated the second tier all season, sitting 12 points clear at the top of this table and play some great football under Vincent Kompany.
However, one moment during Tuesday’s game at The Den saw Twine take to very late rolls, something that had many baffled, while others laughed and some felt embarrassed for him.
Lions defender Danny McNamara can be seen winning the ball, with Twine seemingly feeling there was contact.
The player sprawled across the turf before theatrics began and Twine frantically waved his arms about to get the referee’s attention.
The commentator watching on can be heard in the clip saying: “Wins the ball, and then… I mean look at that, I mean what is he doing?! He is embarrassing himself there. Embarrassing himself.”

Substitute Tom Bradshaw’s last strike saved Millwall from Championship leaders Burnley, who had to settle with a 1-1 draw at The Den.
Ashley Barnes’ 51-minute poacher’s goal, his second in as many games was looking to be the difference in Tuesday’s south London game.
Bradshaw remained cool, even though he was about to score his 11th goal of this season. This gave the Lions’ push for the play-offs more credibility.
Millwall’s Gary Rowett said after the game, as per Sky Sports:
“I didn’t rest him (Bradshaw). Even I’m not stupid enough to rest a player that scored three goals in the previous game. He was injured. I spoke to him yesterday and his ankle was swollen black and blue. He had a tight hamstring, a tight glute. He said he thought he’ll be about 80 per cent and at that point I said I’m not going to risk you. It’s not worth it.
“I probably didn’t really want to use him. But with the state of the game, we wanted to get something out of it. He takes the goal really well. The keeper doesn’t even have a chance to move. It just shows the confidence you get from scoring a hat-trick.”
Burnley’s Vincent Kompany said after the game, as per Sky Sports:
“We discussed this earlier in the season. We are not allowing any emotional rollercoaster. The game’s done. We’ll have a quick review of the game and then we move on. Until about five minutes before the end, I felt like this was a good game for us.
“I’m convinced that with the quality of the players we have that on another day we’d score more goals, but credit to Millwall. It was tough the whole game, but I can’t say I was surprised.”
Speaking to the club website, Scott Twine said: “It felt good, it’s something I’ve waited a long time for, and I’ve worked hard for. I had a poor start to the season with getting that injury and coming back longer than I thought I would, which is a bit frustrating. The team’s been flying so it’s been difficult to get a start, but I got one today and hopefully I get some more soon.
“I think we’re a bit disappointed with the point but we said at the start of this run of lots of games in a busy period that we weren’t going to get too high and we weren’t going to get too low.
“I think looking back it is a good point in the end, four points from the two games I think that’s really good, especially in the position we’re in, that’s the main thing.
“The thing we said in there, it’s so important we don’t lose those type of games today, which can easily be done because Millwall are a great team. Especially at home, we knew it was going to be a dangerous game. So, I think a point in the end is a good result.”

As mentioned, Burnley’s Scott Twine baffles fans with footage showing his embarrassing delayed roll vs Millwall…
@MarlonSavoini: Not his proudest moment I feared he done his ACL in. This ain’t Burnley at all, we hate stuff like this
@LeeCologne: That’s pathetic…!
@Mfcsteve: Rolled around like he was shot….. then jogged back on !
@OliverRawstron6: i’m embarrassed about that one. But mainly when barnes dropped maatsen on the pitch to time waste. Hate it when other teams do it
@ollie_ambrose: Fully thought he’d properly fucked his knee aswell😅hope he learns and doesn’t do it again
@RyanSeaton05: Feels even worse when it’s a player on your team 🙈
@_ItsLewis18_: Are we sure there wasn’t a sniper in the stadium 👀
@Millwall_R: I can’t stop watching this. It’s the hand up for me
@LAshworth91: Thats awful. So used to seeing our players conduct themselves properly on the pitch when we were in the PL. The only part of our game I don’t enjoy watching atm is how soft we are. Used to hate it when teams did it against us. Embarrassing
@Jw95Kieran: I love the lad, but fuck me it winds me up. Don’t like when others do it, disappointed in Twine for doing it as well. Just needless from him! 🫣
@fullke65: Oh my god he has to live with this for the rest of his life. Embarrassing
@meeswood: The key for me is the deliberate rolling around. If you think you’re seriously hurt you don’t want to move for fear of making it worse. Far too much of this kind of nonsense.
@kristophisonn: This pained me so much to watch. Embarrassing. I get we’re trying to get promoted but christ sake lads do it properly.
@dianaday44: Max described it perfectly. Embarrassing should have applied for a part in the dying swan. Blokes a clown. Danny’s disgust is so evident. Cxnt sound have been sent off for diving
@MarkRidders: I hope his kids get to see that when they’re older and hate their dad even just a little bit for being such a tart.
@fishingmick30: So if it was a foul the ref should have booked him, if it was NOT a foul then book the cheat, and if that was done then it just might stop players doing it,
@MarchersMedia: Did he make it through the night?
@Lauren_Sadlerx: Scott Twine what are you doing
@red_dog14: I love football but hate the way it’s going with this kind of stuff. Play it back to the lad & let him know how much of an embarrassment he looks.
@Hampton_Lakes: Introduce a new disciplinary system, one game ban per roll.
@gompstomp78: I take it he was stretched off, given oxygen and his season is over?
@stevebellbfc: Not what we are about 😬🤷🏻♂️
@millwalljdb: One of a number of shameful examples gamesmanship by Burnley….. a shame as they really are a very gòod team…. is this how top-level young players are coached these days?
@LOSTlNPARIS: genius bit of acting i was convinced he’d done his acl
