Burnley receive a fair bit of criticism from fans as a expensive ticket price emerges ahead of the 2024/25 season back in the second tier.
There are tickets in areas of the North Stand Upper Tier and Bob Lord stands that are priced at £55, and that has left many angered considering the club have just been relegated to the Championship.
@ClaretJD tweeted: “Yep it’s the price for the majority of the upper north stand which holds the largest number of home fans out of all four stands. Lower tier is £45. Bob Lord across from it is £47 rising to £55. The cheapest adult ticket you can get is £35 in lower Jimmy Mac. Insane prices.”
Burnley is one of the most archetypal community football clubs. A small town who have a small pool to get their loyal match going supporters from. To price out a large section of that small pool is not only greedy but it’s also idiotic. Shame on those responsible #twitterclarets https://t.co/aSVpJZJRlw

As mentioned, Burnley receive criticism from fans as disgustingly expensive ticket price emerges…
@NytroLTFC: We really need to come together as fan bases and get ticket pricing caps sorted. The away ticket pricing cap for the PL (£30 max) works well (in my opinion anyway) and we should be rallying together to get that kind of thing for home and away games in Champ/L1/L2 as well.
@TimCotton81: Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!
@hector_fortune: Vote with your feet. While stadiums are full, they’ll do fuck all. Plenty of non league clubs offering value for money. Affordable food and drink, no segregation, standing with a pint and no diving prima donnas…. You takes your choice!
@roversfan999: Rovers fan in peace. They are pricing the ordinary man/woman in the street out of watching live football.
@pompeanut1898: That’s disgusting. I’d be ashamed if my club were anywhere near that
@Osc_W87: Can honestly say I’ve never been so disconnected and disappointed in our small town community based football club. £55 for championship football is an absolute outrage and a complete and utter disgrace.
@beechy013: That’s insane!
@KentuckyIrish44:
For perspective it cost me:
£50 for a family of 4 to go to a rugby world cup match
£28 for a family of 4 to go to an elite ice hockey match
£32 for a family of 4 to watch a rugby league game
And now, somehow, £200+ to watch @BurnleyOfficial
🤦♂️ #twitterclarets #BurnleyFC #EFL
@RickMcGurty94: Ridiculous pricing across east Lancashire now. Regular folk being taken for granted.
@ryan_murton: Hello @BurnleyPolice, I’d like to report a case of daylight robbery please
@RobRuss92409479: I’ve fallen out of love with the game side of football, and moves like this, throughout the game, will soon erode what’s left of the match experience.
@Floydian50: Time to go and watch some non-league. I’ll always love Burnley FC but I can’t commit to a full season ticket and I’m not paying £55 on the match day.
@MilltownClarets: £55 is crazy wtf 🤯
@caleb_bfc: Robbery disgraceful from the club
@nmclean77: They are testing the water………will keep upping prices, until fan numbers fall, then they’ve found their ceiling. @AlanPaceBFC and his team are slowing making this once-great family club unrecognisable.
@nathanjayrogers: I’ve been priced out since 2020. Not because I can’t afford it, I just refuse to pay it. Only get on now, if I can bag a freebie of people. As we keep getting reminded… ‘Football without the fans is nothing…’
@LiamRyan06: Working class Burnley. A little shithole in the north of England stuck with poverty, yet one of the tightest communities I’ve ever been involved in. But no, fuck that, money is all the owners want. This is absolute fucking disgrace and I’ve never been so disappointed in the club.
@OfficialVizeh: £55 is an absolute joke. We are Burnley, not Barcelona. We need to sort this out as it’s incredibly out of touch, at our core we’re a working class club and this only prices our own fans out. @AlanPaceBFC
@NickMad54900372: Absolutely shocking, Maybe the owners daughter can start a tiktok campaign begging fans to attend.
@Tarantini_1875: Gate receipts make up such a small percentage of club’s revenue, especially a club with new owners who’ve just come down from the Premier League. Literally no excuse for them to charge this. Even worse when you factor it’s a working class town in Lancashire
@UpTheClaretsFB: Clubs turning into everything I despised about other clubs, feeling very disconnected with Burnley, since Dyche went really. The success masked it slightly during Kompany’s first season, but time again Pace shows he doesn’t know the town, or even worse, he just doesn’t care.
@Funky_Boite: Disgusting that. Owners trying to coin back as much as they can
@Joeytaylor123: Thought Burnley was old school working class club, horrible pricing 🤦🏻♂️
@chasbfcdarts: Never felt as disconnected in all my time following Burnley, these owners have torn the club apart for their own little experiment yet some of you still talk about “Alan” like he’s the greatest man on the planet. They could not care less about the fans or the club!
@Casey_Jamess: Yeah this is why I’m done with it as a proper ‘fan’. Enough is enough – for me the club effectively died after the takeover, we became just as disconnected and as inauthentic as the rest of the plastic teams in the Premier League & Championship.
@Mackenz21297034: It’s the same at West Ham mate. Honestly it is ridiculous. The premier league needs to step in and put a cap on ticket prices to stop these clubs ruining the league and the sport with flat atmospheres and half full stadiums
@StevenBMedia: Read the room, Alan. You’ve been here long enough now.
@LiamGrimshaw12: Sickening. Hard working folk taken for granted. £55 notes is an obscenity. Vote with your feet Burnley 👎🏻
@ryan_murton: £55 to watch Burnley play against Portsmouth in the second tier 😂😭 What a world we live in!
So you think £55 is acceptable?
I understand STs are excellent value but the jump to walk on prices doesn’t exactly cater for those who can’t afford an ST!
I’d argue £37 (wings) to £41 (central) in JHL is still too expensive 🤷🏻♂️
