Burnley face backlash after job offer for drummer to help improve atmosphere at Turf Moor

Burnley face backlash after putting out a job offer for a drummer to help improve the ‘flat’ atmosphere at Turf Moor in recent times.

The Clarets put of the advert via LinkedIn, with the club saying they’re on the search for drummers to “keep the Turf Moor beat going”.

Questions have been asked around the atmosphere at Turf Moor this season, with performances and results hardly inspiring for the home crowd to get behind.

And it would appear that the atmosphere inside Turf Moor has left a lot to desire too.

As a result the club recently advertised online for a drummer to help “keep fans engaged and excited” inside the stadium on matchdays.

Burnley currently sit 18th in the Premier League table, taking 4 points from 8 games played, scoring 7 but conceded 20. They have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 6.

“At the end of last season, Vincent Kompany asked the fans to make Turf Moor a ‘Fortress’. Despite this, most supporters would agree that the atmosphere at Turf Moor this season has felt flat.

“With that, we come to you, the season ticket holder, to hear your suggestions on how we can collectively lift the match day atmosphere.

As mentioned, Burnley face backlash after a job offer for drummer to help improve atmosphere at Turf Moor…

@Acrosby_sl6: I get it, I get the whole “twelfth man” thing, but I’d also argue that professional footballers are paid enough (and the clue is also in the “professional” bit) that they should be able to play at the top of their game irrespective of what’s happening in the stands.

@adam_major1: If our fans could sing in time instead of half the cricket field singing everything at 6x speed there’d be no need for a drummer

@joshnicholson11: The single worst idea the ownership have ever had.

@TheRobinsonson: I’d rather us play No Ney Never just before kick off to get everyone singing. Don’t know why we don’t start playing an old song leading up to kick off

@LondonClarets: We don’t need a drum…

@TommoClaret: Please NO

@fish_stuart: The atmosphere is better if u are winning games. A drum doesn’t win games

@frantastic51: Absolutely no drumming at the Turf. I would not renew my season ticket. It would spoil it for me.

@Gibbo1882: Please no! Although I would be interested to see what an “optimistic” drummer looked like….. not the first time this has been suggested, just probably less staff members who would object to it now 🙈

@CaptainR3hab: Have they considered winning some games? I imagine last years atmosphere was good because they had a squad built of players on loan that amounted to a 30m+ wage bill and dominated the league in no surprising manner, and now they’re out of their depth?

@FozWrestle: Hard to generate atmosphere when you’re getting hammered every week

@MrCEmmerson: It’s an awful idea!

@davidtwhitters: Theyve completely lost the plot over this. The atmosphere has been fine – obviously goes flat when we go 3/4 goals down but thats inevitable. Not sure what the owners are expecting or wanting? I’d be well pissed off if a salaried drummer was banging away in the next seat to me

@Claret_in_Wales: Difficult to lift the atmosphere when you’ve been pummelled at home on a regular basis . Should be looking closer to home at team selection and the defensive setup .

@LaupoPhil: Safe standing/sit with mates/cheap tickets

@pusb1996: Burnley calling their own fans crap pretty much 😂

@SimonTa86450084: Scoring goals may help.

@Brightonfan: Stop being in the 1970s would be a better idea?!

@bfccalbooth:
Reasons for the dead atmosphere
– Current Form
– People being ordered to sit down
– No designated safe standing area
– the loudest stand is more than half away fans.
Fill the FW with home fans move away fans to lower JM. Make some of FW safe standing. @BurnleyOfficial

@neiloten:
Vincent: Make TM a fortress!
Burnley FC: Sit down or you’re out!

@marleynffc: Has there ever been an atmosphere at Burnley?
