The game will take place on Saturday the 19th of October and televised live on BT Sport with a kick off at 5:20pm. The BBC are expected to also make a selection this week.
Unbeaten in all competitions York City currently sit top of the National League North table, three points clear of Chester who sit second.
They have already beaten Irlam (2-0, on BBC) and Buxton (2-1) in the Second and Third qualifying rounds.
Stockport, who are 18th in the National League, enter this round of the FA Cup after the won promotion from the Minstermen’s division, meaning that the Hatters didn’t have to play in the early stages of the tournament.
Since the news of the selected FA Cup tie was made by BT Sport, there was plenty reaction, some loving the choice of game – take a look at those tweets on the next page.
