Bromley receive club record fee as exciting 20 year old player signs for Brentford

Bromley receive a club record fee as exciting 20 year old player Ben Krauhaus signs for Brentford of the Premier League.

We’ve previously talked about this young lad, and a big move was always on the cards having impressed with the Ravens.

The midfielder has joined Brentford with a deal reportedly worth around ยฃ200,000, with the likes of Crystal Palace and Wolves missing out.

According to The Sun, as many as EIGHT bids were submitted for the star in recent times with scouts from Brentford, Palace, Wolves, Leicester, Norwich, Cardiff, Hull and Oxford all watching him.

Bromley currently sit 2nd in the National League with 57 points from 29 games played.

BROMLEY STATEMENT:

Bromley Football Club can confirm that Ben Krauhaus has signed for Premier League side Brentford for a club record undisclosed fee and will return to the Ravens on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 20-year-old becomes the latest success story to come out of our Academy after progressing through the education and U21 Professional Development system to not only become a First Team regular at Hayes Lane, but to become the first ever Bromley player to be sold to the Premier League.

Krauhaus has made 28 league appearances so far this season, netting on five occasions and has attracted interest from a whole host of clubs across the higher divisions.

His first strike of the season came in a 1-1 draw away at Solihull before adding to his tally at Hartlepool in November. Krauhaus then bagged three in two when we came up against Ebbsfleet over the festive period, netting on Boxing Day before clinching a brace in the reverse fixture before the turn of the year.

He also found the net in our 3-2 home victory over Wealdstone in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the Emirates FA Cup and then again in a 1-1 draw at home to Chippenham Town in the FA Trophy.

Krauhaus first made a name for himself during our famous FA Youth Cup runs of 2020 and 2021. He netted a late winner at Fratton Park as the young Ravens beat Portsmouth 2-1 to reach the Third Round for the first time ever. It proved to be deja vu for Ben the following season as he popped up with another last minute strike to secure back-to-back Third Round progression, beating Forest Green Rovers 4-3 away from home.

He then became a regular for our U21 Professional Development Squad, playing under current First Team coach Steve Aris.

During his time with the PDS, he caught the eye of Andy Woodman and it wasnโ€™t long before he made his senior debut, coming on as a substitute in our 1-0 win at Dover Athletic in 2021 during that successful FA Trophy run.

To gain regular menโ€™s football, Krauhaus then joined Walton & Hersham on loan where he helped them gain promotion from the Cherry Red Combined Counties League Premier Division South. Slightly closer to home, he then signed a loan deal with Cray Wanderers where heโ€™d reunite with team-mate Kellen Fisher.

Continuing to shine away from Bromley FC, including a hat-trick for Cray against Brightlingsea Regent, meant it wasnโ€™t long before he would receive another senior team nod from Woodman. However, this time, he was there to stay.

Ben was recalled and went on to feature 11 times for the Ravens during the remainder of the 2022/23 season, scoring his first goal in the process, an equaliser at home to Dagenham & Redbridge.

The youngster has continued to impress this season and has become a regular starter, featuring in almost every game this season.

We congratulate Ben for securing a move to Brentford and look forward to seeing his developments continue for the remainder of the season as a Bromley player.

We caught up with Ben back in November in a special feature interview after penning a new deal with the club:

BRENTFORD STATEMENT:

Brentford have completed the signing of Ben Krauhaus on a three and a half year contract, with a 12-month club option, from Vanarama National League side Bromley for an undisclosed fee.

Krauhaus will be loaned back to Bromley for the remainder of this current campaign and will join the young Bees ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The 19-year-old midfielder has featured regularly for Bromley’s first team, featuring in all but one of their 28 league games this season, scoring five goals in the process.

Krauhaus has helped Andy Woodman’s side to second in the National League, as the Lillywhites push for promotion into League Two.

B team head coach Neil MacFarlane said: “I am absolutely delighted with his signing. Ben is someone who has performed so well for Bromley so far and we cannot wait for him to join us in the summer.

“Ben really suits our style of play; he is really aggressive in his pressing while also being a player who can create and score goals.

“We want to continue that development process for him and I am sure he will fit perfectly into the group.”
