Bromley and Football Manager have decided to team up to offer one fan a dream job as tactician at the the National League club.

No seriously, they link up with Xbox and Football Manager, giving one gamer the opportunity to swap the gaming chair, and replace it for one in the manager’s office.

Bromley have issued a video, with the campaign titled ‘The Everyday Tactician’, finding the next person to be part of Andy Woodman’s coaching staff.

The winner will secure a five-month role and will be tasked with helping the Ravens’s promotion bid in reaching the EFL for the first time in the club’s 131-year history.

Bromley have issued a video to the public, as well as a statement on how to get involved…

CLUB STATEMENT:

XBOX AND FOOTBALL MANAGER PARTNER WITH BROMLEY F.C. TO GIVE ONE FAN THE CHANCE TO JOIN THE REAL WORLD OF PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL

Today, Xbox and Football Manager are announcing the launch of The Everyday Tactician, a campaign that will give one gamer the chance to live out their dreams at a professional football club. Football Manager is marking its 20th anniversary and the campaign is created in celebration of the release of Football Manager 2024 (FM24) on PC or console with Game Pass.

One passionate FM24 player will have the opportunity to go from the armchair (or gaming chair) to the real world, and put their skills from the game to use in a full-time role as a ‘Support Performance Tactician’ at Vanarama National League side, Bromley Football Club.

The role will involve shadowing and learning from all the coaching staff, including 1st Team Manager Andy Woodman, to understand the ins and outs of all the tactical decision-making that goes into preparing a football team for success.

Hopeful Tacticians can apply by completing the Xbox achievement ‘Championes’ in FM24 on PC with PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate, and on console with Game Pass for Console or Game Pass Ultimate, to guide a team of their choice to glory by winning a domestic league title.

Andy Woodman, Manager of Bromley F.C., said: “At Bromley F.C., we pride ourselves on being a community club so we’re very much looking forward to welcoming an enthusiastic supporter to our backroom staff! There are definitely plenty out there who know how to guide us to glory in the Football Manager game so we’re excited to welcome someone who can replicate that in the real world!”

Xbox Northern Europe Director, James Butcher, said: “We are excited to be teaming Xbox Game Pass with Football Manager and Bromley F.C. to give a Football Manager gamer a unique insight into professional football management. Xbox Game Pass is home to some of the best sports content, and this first-of-its-kind job application is giving a member of the Xbox community the chance to live out their dream.”

Miles Jacobson, Studio Director of Sports Interactive, said: “Football fans are full of opinions on how their team can do better on the pitch – now with the help of Xbox and Bromley F.C. we can finally find out if their theories are right and follow the journey of ‘The Everyday Tactician’. I expect there might be a bit more to it than even we at Football Manager anticipate.”

The steps to achieve real world football management glory are as follows:

1. Complete and turn in the Xbox achievement ‘Championes’ by winning a domestic league title -in FM24 on PC with PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate, and on console with Game Pass for Console or Game Pass Ultimate by December 4th.

2. Fill out the form here and send a 1-minute video explaining why you should be Bromley F.C.’s new ‘Tactician’

3. Finalists will complete an interview with Bromley F.C. staff

Once the final Tactician has been chosen, fans will be able to follow their journey at the club online and on social media via Bromley F.C., Football Manager and Xbox UK channels, as well as TNT Sports, the Vanarama National League’s official Broadcast Partner. The journey will also be recorded in a three-part documentary to be released next year. Keep your eyes peeled on social for more details in the coming weeks.
