Brighton’s Glenn Murray explains why West Brom and Leeds ‘don’t deserve to be promoted’ in an interview with Sky Sports this week.
Both the Premier League and Championship are pushing for a return to action in mid-June.

It was recently announced that there will be a further delay on a possible season resumption after being advised not to commence full training until the 25th of May.
Curtailment is a possibly after clubs learned that full squad training as a group is not recommended until towards the end of May, meaning hopes of restarting early June looks unlikely.
Sources have suggested that if it does resume it may not be until mid to late June – or even early July in a worst case scenario – until the league is in a position to conclude the campaign.
Senior club officials insist it will take more than three weeks for players to reach match fitness.
Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber has stated that the Championship needed to be completed alongside the Premier League for relegation and promotion to be allowed.
“Our standpoint is if the games get played, the worse three teams in the league get relegated. That is plain and simple, it always will be and hopefully it will be in this case as well,” he told Sky Sports’ Football Show.
“My only thought on that is the Championship. If we manage to play our games in the Premier League, whoever finishes in the bottom three deserves to go down, but to be relegated you need the Championship to finish their games. If they don’t finish their games, they don’t deserve to be promoted.
“We’re talking about fairness and we’re trying our best to get the Premier League season, nobody wants it voided. All the players agree the bottom three sides are the worst in the division and deserve to go down but if the clubs below us in the Championship aren’t finishing their season, why should they get promoted?
“If the Championship is finished, brilliant. Whoever finishes in the bottom-three places and whoever wins the playoffs and finishes in the top-two in the Championship gets promoted but if the Premier League finishes and we get relegated without them kicking a ball then I can’t see that it’s a fair way for things to finish.”

It speaks volumes that nobody else in England are crying like little girls other than the teams who are threatened with relegation from the premier league. Totally classless

If PL finishes and Championship doesn’t – bottom 3 of PL face top 3 of Championship in a play off system.
1st in Champ vs 20th in PL
2nd in Champ vs 19th in PL
3rd in Champ vs 18th in PLWinner of the three ties play in the PL next season. Simple

Taking a pay cut with relegation, are we?
Regardless of what the Championship does, if you play out all your games & finish in the bottom 3, you have no excuses on being relegated.
It’s not your concern on who should or should not be promoted in another division.

The premier league doesn’t have any rule over the EFL. Just like the EFL has no say in the PL hence why they’re waiting for the PL to reveal their plans before they can reveal their own.
Nice try though!

Wonder where his team are in the league and where they might end up if they play ?

Stop having Murray on. Hes being wheeled out by Brighton to tell you reasons why Brighton can’t be relegated this year. Great sportsmanship. There will be cowards working relentlessly behind the scenes to plug him with a new reason next week.

Hes right. How can you promote teams without finishing the season?

Glenn Murray deffo on a big wage cut if Brighton went down ?

If you finish in the bottom 3 of the PL you have no more right to a PL place than a L2 club! How the Championship finishes is irrelevant!
