Ahead of the rest of the weekend’s action, Brentford are up to 3rd with 9 points from 5 games, while Chelsea are 7th with 7 points.

SHORTENED HIGHLIGHTS:
EXTENDED HIGHLIGHTS:
Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso said to Sky Sports:
“I’m disappointed with the second half and with the result. This is not enough to compete in the Premier League.
“We were not able to maintain our level for the full 90 minutes and that’s why we were punished today.
“It’s about everything. It’s about the mentality, the football and the tactical things that we need to keep improving. We can do much better.”
On whether Joao Pedro’s absence played a part:
“It’s not about looking for excuses.
“We need to look at each other and know that we have to work and improve because there is still a long way to go. We have to check many things.
“We got into situations, but we were not precise enough with the final action. That’s why we didn’t score.”
🗣️ “It’s a special evening, first game at home we’ve beaten them since 1938… It’s important you enjoy nights like this.”

“I felt like there was something bubbling towards tonight. I have this unbelievable calm around the team because I trust them, so it’s nice to see it come to fruition.
“I see humility and hunger within the group every day. We’re very respectful of each other, but we’re going to get better. We have to continue improving in this league.
“We try to push boundaries and be really open with each other. Let’s continue on our journey because I’m loving it.”

Here’s how fans reacted as Brentford remain unbeaten with a 3-0 victory, with Chelsea winless in three league games…
@JackBFC3: Schuster deserves a pay rise whatever we’re giving him it isn’t enough
@alimullaley: Number of times in our games someone puts a great ball in across the box and it just needs someone arriving at the back post. Fabio is sooooo good at it. Watched it back on Sky when I got home. The timing of his run is perfection. #brentfordfc
@AVFCMatt1874: Can’t help but admire #brentfordfc. What a brilliant football team. They are the template for championship clubs #breche
@Murd1973: Brentford. Bloody hell. They seem to be getting even better. Never saw that coming with Keith Andrews.
@BrentfordHive: Going to take a LOT to top tonight, what a win!!!! Schuster is amazing. Jordan whats the scoreeeee?!! Carvalho gives Chelsea another late dagger at the Gtech. UUUUU REDDDDSSS 🐝🐝🐝🐝
@georgepayne99: When do we start saying Keith Andrews > Thomas Frank ?
@cahilljackie: Some performance that from Brentford. Seems to have a great rapport with his players, Keith Andrews
@conordawson41: Keith Andrews is doing one heck of a job at Brentford. Definitely making a name for himself. He’s a top bloke 🇮🇪
@quophy_kidd: Keith Andrews keeps making me apologize to him under my breath everytime. So underrated
@UTDlegendary: Someone is gonna give Keith Andrews a big job and then he’s gonna flop and then he’s gonna go back to a mid tier club and do well again
@JacquiOatley: So good to see well run clubs prosper. Brighton midweek, Brentford tonight. Both have fantastic people on their respective boards. They say “a fish rots from the head” – you see it in badly run clubs. Strong leadership filters down too. #bhafc #brentfordfc
We’ll take that going into the international break… unbeaten and third in the Premier League. COYB #BrentfordFC pic.twitter.com/hwZwpwwNYe
