Braintree Town have confirmed that manager Danny Searle has stepped down from his role at the club with immediate effect.
The 41 year old took over the National League side in January, replacing Hakan Hayrettin who departed for Maidstone United, who like the Essex side went down.
He only won six of his 16 matches in charge, moving them off the bottom but still finished 22nd and relegated, 11 points from safety.

Searle said on social media: “To everyone at Braintree Town Football Club. I want to thank everyone at the Club for making me welcome!
“To the Staff and volunteers, you have been brilliant with me, put up with my demands and made me a part of your family for which I will always be grateful. The work you do is amazing and what you have already achieved in the short time since the season has finished just shows what can be done. I sincerely hope you continue to make the improvements that you already have.
“To the fans, the support you gave me from the time I took over was nothing short of Fantastic, you played a massive part in the teams up turn in form and without you Braintree wouldn’t be what it is. Keep the positive vibe going and ensure you get behind the new Manager and players. Remember this ‘Pub Team from Essex’ is capable of great things.
“To My Staff and Players, it’s not easy when someone new takes over but you instantly bought into what I wanted to do and deserve all the accolades that followed at the end of the season. Your endless hard work and dedication showed no end! Thank you so much.
“To the Board, thank you for the opportunity and support during my tenure.
“My Final Thank You is to Jerry Carter, your tireless work and effort for the Club is second to none! The support you gave me on a daily basis was unbelievable, even when I was making high demands I hope you continue to drive what we started and remember ‘there’s always a chance’
