Bradford City sacks their 8th manager in four years with fans choosing to name who they want in as the ongoing boss’ replacement.
The Bantams have parted company with last season’s playoff winning manager Derek Adams after eight months in charge at the Valley Parade outfit.
Adams’ last game in charge was Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Exeter City, his ninth loss in 31 league games that left the club 11th in the League Two table.
The 46-year-old joined the Bantams from Morecambe in June, but won only nine of 37 games in all competitions.

CLUB STATEMENT:
Bradford City AFC has today parted company with manager Derek Adams.
Adams arrived at the Utilita Energy Stadium in June. Since then, he has taken charge of 37 competitive fixtures, resulting in nine victories, 13 defeats and 15 draws.
The clubâs chief executive officer, Ryan Sparks, said: âOn behalf of the board, it is with deep regret that we have come to the decision to part company with Derek Adams.
âA sustained period of consideration has led to this decision and it is felt that, with all things taken into account, the club must move in a different direction with regards to the role of first-team manager.
âWe would like to thank Derek for his efforts while at Valley Parade, and wish him the very best for the future.â
Assistant manager Mark Trueman will take caretaker charge of first-team affairs with immediate effect, overseeing Saturdayâs Sky Bet League Two match against Oldham Athletic.

As Bradford City sacks their 8th manager in four years; fans name who they want and don’t want in, see that below…
@Harker38: Go out and get Robbie Fowler please. A new direction. Worked abroad. Will have decent connections and give him a go.
@andybaxter34: Another new direction!!! Board there isnt one sparks and rupp. New gaffer given one year roll on contract. Expect trueman till end of season and the recruiting team to disappear due to loyalty
@Petertheoilrig: Hope all these against Adams are happy I for ainât we never give him time, he needed a full summer with him at the wheel to root out the dross gutted hopefully next manager can sort them out thank god 90% are gone in summer.
@WrestlingJebus: I was so optimistic at the start of the season & it’s a shame it didn’t work out. But the football got to a point where it was really dire to watch and we weren’t getting results. Definitely the right call in my opinion #bcafc
@swfcBW: ahaha you lot are actually never getting out of league two đ
@JamboFanTV: Proven manager at this level but results, his poor interviews and rotten relationship with fans said he had to go. Bradford donât half get through their managers.
@ADAM__ELLIS_: Lee Johnson for me but I think weâd struggle to attract him. The clubs a mess #bcafc
@CassBen1: I was vocal that he shouldnât have moved on but regardless of that⌠I canât stand #bcafc belief that they are somehow obligated to have immediate success. Given time heâd have got you promoted and decisions like this are reason why youâll stick around in league 2.
@Bantamchris1: Do people really think Flynn would take the job? Heâs out of football with mental health, All the abuse and pressure of 14k fans on his back. Canât see him wanting it #BCAFC
@cjpoot: Grant McCann or Robbie Fowler for me. #bcafc
@IHemmens: What a basket case of a club we’ve become! Its an embarrassing situation now. #bcafc
@xsearleyx: Michael Flynn should stay well away from this club #bcafc
@MrDinkPanther: So fan power won and Adams is gone. The results could probably have been accepted had he not literally driven a wedge between him, the club and the fans. Literally trying to make it Adams FC, ultimately no one is bigger than the club. #bcafc
@markg80: When do sparks and rupp follow? Another fuck up by Captain admins favourite little boy following another shambolic window headed up by Herr rupp. Get them all out of our club #bcafc
@duncan_winn: Dug his own grave when he rounded on the fans. Nobody wants to be on the merry go round but he had to go, nothing to like about him or his football. Pity the decision wasnt taken whilst there was something to play for. Thanks for absolutely sod all Derek, good riddance! #bcafc
@bowers_cameren: STUARTTTTTT STUARTTTTTT #bcafc
@AndyDCollinson: Flynn and Jones. That is a proper managerial team with @officialbantams’ core values at heart. Get it done Sparks. #bcafc
@itwascytronical: Right, this is the wrong decision on major levels, the merry go go round of managers continue, proven manager doesn’t succeed at dodgy club what a surprise, Micheal Flynn won’t last long I guarantee it. Every season the dressing room seems to be lost, absolute shambles #bcafc
@peterbovril: Flynn for me #bcafc
@dizzyuptheguy: Well well. Derek has gone. As I said a couple of weeks ago the writing was on the wall and the trust of the fans was gone. Not the right man for this club. Now, do the right thing and get Michael Flynn in, that will get the fans back on side. #bcafc
@jmazurke: was listening to talkSPORT yesterday morning and Neil Warnock said he wouldnât mind managing any side until the end of the season. Even league 2. #bcafc
@Robsterhal: Swallow ya fucking pride and get after Steve Evans #bcafc
@favell1989: 8 managers in 4 years. We average a new manager every 182 days. Thatâs literally 6 months. Shambles. Aside from that Sparkâs youâre out of your depth and donât know what youâre doing. #BCAFC @officialbantams
@ChrisHilton83: Steve Evans would turn out to be another Derek Adams, no thank you #bcafc
Go have a look and see how much Rupp has spent at the club on players. Then go see how much mark lawn spent and come back. Short memory have people like you.

I love this bloke. Most successful ever manager in EFL history. Opposition fans hate him but he unites clubs and gets results whilst having a laugh doing it. 𼰠#bcafc pic.twitter.com/K5cBBfdwEr
