Bradford City quickly appoint their new boss in Stuart McCall, for his third spell, putting pen to paper on a deal which sees him remain at club until the end of next season.
The 55-year-old, takes over following Gary Bowyer’s departure yesterday, and brings long-term assistant Kenny Black back to West Yorkshire with him.

His last job was with Scunthorpe, he was appointed in August 2018, won four out of five games in January to take them out of relegation and up to 14th. The good form didn’t last though as they dropped back to 18th and was sacked in March 2019.
Previous to that, he was with Bradford, though was sacked when they were still sitting in 6th in League One when as they had fallen 13 points behind the automatic promotion places.
He said: “I am naturally delighted to be here again and am fully focussed on the 15 games we have left to play.
“It is always difficult taking over from a manager who has lost his job, so I feel for Gary (Bowyer). But, when Julian (Rhodes) contacted me, I was desperate to return.
“We have to assess the squad very quickly and get ready for the remainder of the season. I obviously know a few of the players from my previous spell here, so am looking forward to the challenge.
“The club is a huge one in this division and, with everything still to play for, the job is to try and get us back to where we should be.
“We are going to get our heads down, work as hard as we can and, hopefully, get the best out of what is a strong squad.
“I cannot wait to get on the training pitch with the lads and am really excited to be back in and around the place – ahead of this weekend’s game against Grimsby.”
The Bantams currently sit 8th in the League Two table, five points behind the Cobblers having played a game more.

Very happy with this. I'm glad he hasn't just been given to the end of the season but next season as well. It's a shame vaughan and doyle has gone because they would both thrive under him. Also would love to see gary Jones in a coaching role

Wouldn’t have been my first choice but totally get the quick appointment and direction the club are taking. Fans are needed back on side and season ticket sales are also needed.
