Bolton Wanderers confirm their new manager

Bolton Wanderers have this afternoon confirmed the appointment of former Rochdale boss Keith Hill as their new first team manager.

It comes three days after Football Ventures (Whites) Limited completed its takeover and hours after their 5-0 defeat, this time to Gillingham.

Hill comes in and replaces Jimmy Phillips, who had been in caretaker charge since Phil Parkinson left on 22 August.

Speaking exclusively with bwfc.co.uk, Hill said: “It is an absolute privilege to become the manager of such a big club like Bolton Wanderers.

“David and I are extremely grateful for the opportunity to manage our hometown club.

“My first job is to recruit a number of players ahead of Monday’s deadline.

“The young lads have done really well and worn their heart on their sleeve and we’re not looking to replace them but they need help and we need to strengthen the squad.”

After finding out who Bolton Wanderers’ new manager is, fans took to give their reaction, the majority pleased with it – see what they had to say on the next page.
