Police get involved after trouble erupted in the away end as Birmingham played out their 4-0 win over Millwall on Tuesday night.
It was back-to-back 4-0 home wins for the hosts, ending the Lions’ unbeaten away record this season, with Paik Seung-ho (29′), Demarai Gray (45′), Alex Cochrane (49′), Jay Stansfield (65′) all getting onto the scoresheet.
The Blues rise to 9th in the table, (1 point off top six), while Millwall stay 4th, despite picking up a fourth defeat of the season.
There was trouble in the away end, with footage since being posted on social media. @fast_sin alleges a police officer lost the plot whilst attempting to restrain a Millwall fan and ended up punching him. “The situation could have easily escalated into a riot.”

Millwall head coach Alex Neil told BBC London:
“We just weren’t good enough on the evening. We’ve been good across most of the season so far, but tonight was a real disappointment for us.
“Timings of goals are always important. Conceding in the 45th minute and in the 48th minute is just horrendous timing. Just before half time, and just after half time.
“Credit to Birmingham , they were the better side, they deserved to win, we just didn’t do enough”
“When goals go in, they get their tails up, the crowd gets behind them, our lads are a bit deflated, and that point I just wanted to make sure we didn’t concede any more stupid goals, and keep some fresh legs for the weekend.”
Neil, per Sky Sports:
“We got into a couple of good positions early on. But the first goal was hugely disappointing.
“From our point of view, the timing of the second – on the stroke of half-time – was horrendous.
“At that stage, you think, ‘We need the next goal’, but we’re three down after 48, 49 minutes.
“We weren’t as good as we have been recently. We didn’t produce anywhere near the level we are capable of.
“We have been having a lot of credit recently and we’re going to suffer some criticism from this. But I can take that.”
Birmingham City head coach Chris Davies told BBC WM:
“It was all about the hunger we showed tonight. It was a case of, you win a game 4-0 and it’s very easy just to come off it just slightly. But I thought there was a relentlessness about us again.
“Really aggressive, really intense, really high tempo, players with the desire to score and arriving in the box, playing forward, running forward.
“We almost picked up exactly from where we left off in the previous game which is really pleasing, because it can easily go the other way. I was really pleased with that performance.
“Millwall are a solid, seasoned team at this level. They’re always going to cause you a problem in a game, but I thought we managed it really well, we gave very little away, and we probably could have had more than the actual four that we scored in the end.”
Davies, per Sky Sports:
“I’ve been saying to the players that I know what they’re capable of – but they have to prove that.
“There’s not been one day where I’ve sat there and thought, ‘We are miles away’ or ‘We’re not good enough’.
“I’ve told them numerous times that I believe in them a lot and that they have to bring it all together and show how good they are and the level they can get to in games.
“They have done that in the last two. I think they have put in performances, not just in the wins but in how we have played the games, with a real intensity, on the front foot.
“I wanted us to bring it all together and for them, for their confidence, to show what they can do at this level and I think this will help massively.”

Here’s how fans reacted after police get involved as trouble erupted in the away end while Birmingham played out their 4-0 win over Millwall…
@sha1875: Did anyone work out why the bloke in the Millwall end had major headloss in the second half and ended up mooning the kop?
@paulrmcgonigle: 20 people violently pointing
@g_sharrard: I saw a copper punch one of their lads in the face and it all kicked off, they were reacting
@Mr_Rebound_: 3 of them bent him over the barrier and one punched him in the face. Most of the pointing was towards their body cameras to ask if they caught it.
@g_sharrard: I was watching from the tier above and all I saw was the old bill punch him, looked faintly unprovoked but i didnβt see the whole thing
@Mr_Rebound_: Yeah i could see him resisting getting taken out but deffo never saw him throw any punches or anything.
@_James_Jones_: Millwall had more arrests than shots. 4th in the table before this game unbeaten away. Crazy stuff #bcfc
@kylestacey_: Youβre not famous anymore lads get yourself home.
@DannyMajor2: Great timing with the music
@ChrisJS04: Millwall are the worst fans I have ever seen, truly pathetic. #BCFC #Millwall
@DownToTen: Funniest is that these lot think they’re really scary
@LukeForward95: Wow. Absolutely incredible performance! Men against boys tonight. More arrests than shots on target for Millwall wasnβt it? Very disappointing fans. Think they are half way home by now π€£ On to Boro away, 2 games, 2 clean sheets, 8 goals scored. Sensational. #BCFC #Millwall
So good to be there tonight. Watching Millwall fans kicking off and one git his arse out and got called a paedo and was ejected. We beat them on and off the field.
