BBC release a very brief statement with presenter Jermaine Jenas reportedly ‘sacked’ over a ‘behaviour complaint’ made against him.
Various media outlets state that Jermaine Jenas has been removed by the BBC after they received allegations of inappropriate behaviour.
News of this broke while Jermaine was working live on talkSPORT, but while every news outlet was posting about it. Darren Bent and Jermaine Pennant were also alongside him on the radio station. It was then reported around 6pm Thursday that Jermaine would not be back on.
According to official figures published for 2023, he was getting paid between £190,000 and £194,999 for his roles on the BBC.
Jenas had been working for the broadcaster as a pundit and presenter for Match of the Day, and was also the host for The One Show, but had also been on TNT and due to front Formula E coverage on the channel.
Previously, to that, he fronted the MOTDx show, a spin-off programme aimed at younger audiences which was scrapped.

In a very short statement, a BBC spokesperson said: “We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up.”
According to The Sun, the BBC launched an immediate internal investigation after concerns were raised about Jenas’ behaviour and complaints about workplace conduct.
The Sun claim he was sacked by the BBC after a female member of staff on The One Show claimed he sent her unsolicited texts.
He has subsequently been quietly removed from the broadcaster’s official channels. It is said that after routine enquiries, Jenas’ contract was terminated with the BBC’s new Director of Sport Alex Kay-Jelski thought to be heavily involved in the process. There is a belief that Jenas won’t be allowed back on the BBC in the future.
It’s also claimed that Jermaine parted ways with his long-term agents, MC Saatchi, as a result of this, while also instructing lawyers in a bid to clear his name.
TNT Sports have also confirmed that they’ll take any allegations surrounding Jermaine Jenas “seriously” ahead of a possible investigation.
The governing board at the BBC announced an independent review into the broadcaster’s workplace culture, stating: “We remain concerned about the potential for inappropriate workplace behaviour, particularly in creative and editorial environments.
“Whilst challenges related to power imbalances in the workplace are a challenge for multiple employers, the BBC must hold itself to the highest standards. The BBC has clearly articulated Values and a strong Code of Conduct and there has been much progress in recent years.
“That said, the Board will commission an independent review that will make recommendations on practical steps that could strengthen a workplace culture in line with BBC Values.”
One told the Daily Mail: ‘It all came as a massive shock but his colleagues have now been told the news and he won’t be back.
‘His colleagues are stunned, they didn’t see it coming at all. They were kept in the dark to start with. They couldn’t believe it when they found out.’
