BBC decided to apologise for Kalvin Phillips’ swearing in his chant about John Stones and Man Utd during the trophy parade on Monday.
The Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League winners celebrated completing the Treble with a massive celebration in the streets of Manchester.
When they finally got off the bus, and reached the stage set up for them, Phillips was handed a microphone and led fans into song.
The ex-Leeds player took to praise John Stones but used the phrase “he hates United”, catching the broadcasters including BBC and Sky off guard.

BBC apologised “for any bad words you may have heard”, but fans on social media say ‘what do they expect at a trophy parade?’.
Phillips played only a minor role in Man City winning the Treble during his first season at Etihad.
In the Premier League and FA Cup, he made only three starts, seemingly doing a John Terry as some Twitter users called it.
The parade saw the open top bus parade partially delayed due to the rain and thunder, but nonetheless was still a success.
Stones, Grealish and Haaland, as well as skipper Gündogan were seen making their way by tram to the celebrations.
The star of the show was Grealish and his boozy antics, with Haaland covering his teammate in champagne before Grealish danced around in a high-vis.
Guardiola praised the estimated 200,000 fans for coming out in the storms.
He said: “We had to be the best parade with this rain, otherwise it is not Manchester.
“We don’t want sunshine, we want rain, so it was perfect. The fans are used to the rain.”
Captain Ilkay Gundogan said it was “incredible” that they had “three trophies”.
Grealish said: “For the past 24 hours, I have had the best day and night.
“To be fair, I don’t think I have slept.”
Man City players are expected to turn up for international duty on Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the parade. Going to be some sore heads that’s for sure.
