Barry Bannan and his fellow teammates mock Rhian Brewster, Sheffield United and Barnsley as they celebrated with fans during the parade.
Sheffield Wednesday fans turned out in their thousands to celebrate with Darren Moore, his players and the coaching team after they won the dramatic League One playoff final against Barnsley at Wembley days earlier.
Sheffield Wednesday took to the streets in an open-top bus, surrounded by a sea of blue and white.
The club celebrated its first promotion in over a decade with flares and songs aplenty.
One man, Barry Bannan, a much loved figure at the club, had many a selfie taken, while also leading the chants, some of those cheekily aimed at the Owls’ rivals as can be seen below…

Speaking to The Star at the parade, player of the season Liam Palmer said: “It’s incredible, seeing what is out there from on that balcony, it’s amazing – it’s what you strive for as players, to enjoy these moments with the loyal fans. And having our friends and families here is special, they sacrifice a lot for us in terms of time, dealing with the bad moods when we come home and haven’t won. It’s a perfect end to what’s been a perfect season.
“It was fantastic on the bus coming in as well, on the bus catching people’s phones and hearing the giants. It’s so nice to get the chance to interact and enjoy it with the people.
“When things are on a downward slope and things aren’t going so well, it makes all these moments even better. It really makes you appreciate when things go well – like the chairman says, promotions don’t come about every year so it’s just amazing to get it over the line. It’s been really deserved – I’m delighted for everyone.”

George Byers said, as per The Star: “This club has got a place in my heart,” he said with a smile and a slight quiver in his voice. “I’ve been here a couple of years now, and this fanbase, everyone involved with the club, has just sucked me in. There’s nowhere that I’d rather be than at this football club. I’d love to stay here for the long-term, and hopefully in the summer there will be talks and I can stay here for a long time.
“This place means so much to me, the fans mean so much to me. To see them at Wembley, I can’t even put it into words how much it means to me. I’ve seen players like Palms and Baz that have been here for years, and the way they talk about by the club is how I feel now.
“I’d love to be here for the long-term, so we’ll see what happens in the summer.”
Reece James told The Star: “Obviously I’ve got to see what happens and hopefully something can get done, but I’ve enjoyed my time here. It’s been incredible, far more than what I expected was going to happen. I fell in love with the club, the city, everything about it – but I’ll have to see what happens, what plays out over the summer. I’ll be patient. I’ve absolutely loved my time here, and we’re all Wednesday aren’t we?”
