We take a look at the average attendance of every National League club for the 2023/24 season now that it has come to an end.
Football fans watching the lower levels of English football is thankfully on the up due to a numbers of reasons at this incredibly tough time.
Now only are we seeing more and more bigger followings of those in the National League system, helped by supporters of Premier League or EFL teams being priced out, while the love for non league level is increasing and more affordable.
Here are the average attendances for each National League club (as per Football Web Pages) during the 2023/24 season, from the smallest to the largest:
24) Oxford City
Oxford City recorded the smallest average attendance in the National League for the 2023/24 season with 943 spectators.
They finished the season in 24th place with 33 points from 46 games, being relegated back to the 6th tier of English football.
For the 2022/23 season, of which Oxford City won the National League South playoffs, they had an average home attendance of 607.
23) Gateshead
Gateshead had an average of 1,206 supporters attending their games for the 2023/24 National League season.
The Heed Army finished 6th with 75 points from 46 games, but were excluded from the playoffs due to not meeting the Football League’s ground ownership requirements.
For the 2022/23 season, Gateshead finished 14th in the National League, they had an average home attendance of 1,054.
22) Boreham Wood
Boreham Wood had an average of 1,216 supporters come through their turnstiles for the 2023/24 National League season.
It weren’t the season they hoped for, finishing 21st with 52 points from 46 matches and relegated to the National League South.
For the 2022/23 season, of which Boreham Wood finished 6th in the National League, they had an average home attendance of 1,185.
21) AFC Fylde
AFC Fylde had an average attendance of 1,403 fans attending their games for the 2023/24 National League season.
The Coasters finished 18th with 55 points from 46 games, a decent turnaround in form towards the end of the season proving pivotal when they needed it most.
For the 2022/23 season, of which AFC Fylde finished National League North champions, they had an average home attendance of 1,054.

h4>20) Solihull Moors
Solihull Moors had an average of 1,445 fans cheering them on in their games for the 2023/24 National League season.
They ended the season in 5th place with 76 points after 46 games, beat Halifax 4-2 in the playoff eliminators, beat Barnet 4-0 in the semi final then lost on penalties to Bromley in the final (2-2 AET, 4-2 pens).
For the 2022/23 season, of which Solihull finished 15th in the National League, they had an average home attendance of 1,693.
19) Maidenhead United
Maidenhead United had an average attendance of 1,452 people in the stands for the 2023/24 National League season.
The Magpies finished the season in 14th place with a total of 58 points from 46 games played.
For the 2022/23 season, of which Maidenhead finished 20th in the National League, they had an average home attendance of 1,505.
18) Wealdstone
Wealdstone attracted an average of 1,532 spectators attending their games for the 2023/24 National League season.
They secured a 16th place finish in the league standings with 56 points from 46 games played.
For the 2022/23 season, of which Wealdstone finished 13th in the National League, they had an average home attendance of 1,564.
