Appeals have been made as vandals break into two separate non league stadiums this week with seats set on fire, toilets smashed.
As a community club, Farsley Celtic’s facilities are used by over 300 children on a weekly basis. They are also used by the men’s and women’s teams. However, this has not deterred those who were determined to cause chaos.
Eastleigh also unfortunately suffered another break in at Silverlake Stadium, which footage posted showing just what took place.
Joshua Greaves, the Farsley’s CEO, told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “People are using it as a recreational space when at the end of the day, it’s private property. Unfortunately, it’s being damaged for the community by very few. It’s disappointing to see. Everybody across the club works very hard to ensure things are done and kept on top of. It’s soul-destroying sometimes when we’re coming in to see what damage has been done.
“We’ve had spray paint around the club, we’re getting a lot of litter around the grounds. The seats near the dugout have been damaged, it’s just general nuisance. It’s proving to be hard work, to be honest. It’s causing us issues, the club is run by volunteers and we’re really having to keep on top of it.”
Unfortunately, we have been subjected to vandalism over recent weeks, with our ground and other facilities damaged.
As a community club, we have 300+ children using our facilities every week.
The police are now involved, and if anyone notices anything untoward, please call 101. pic.twitter.com/CptofU9mOT

Fortunately for the club, the damage hasn’t stopped them hosting matches and their clash with Kettering Town went ahead as planned.
A statement issued by the club (23rd October) on Twitter read: “Unfortunately, we have been subjected to vandalism over recent weeks, with our ground and other facilities damaged. As a community club, we have 300+ children using our facilities every week. The police are now involved, and if anyone notices anything untoward, please call 101.”
Then on the 25th October: “We are saddened to announce that we have been subjected to further vandalism, with our toilets smashed up. If you have any information, please contact the police on 101. We are now looking to increase our security measures – if anyone is able to assist, please get in touch.”

@Inter_Alty1977: Disgusting! Total Scumbags! Hope they get caught & thrown in prison! Non-Lge clubs work hard to survive & volunteers give up time to help them keep going… The last thing any club needs is scrots like these robbing the club’s hard earned monies! Complete scum!

@dave01168: Total lowlifes that do this. Hopefully you get this repaired soon. But it is an extra cost you could have done without.

@Davelakin7: WTF is the matter with people?!!
@CrambazzledTask: Mindless idiots. Farsley is a small club punching consistently above its weight. Every penny spent matters when up against clubs the size of York City etc.
@Joecsmith11: What is wrong with people.. appalling
@keironw22: Really though? How sad.
@BenBarrick1: Shocking. Hope you find the culprits. Really enjoyed my visit to The Citadel for the Pre-season game against @SUFCOfficial

@NWgroundhopper: Shocking, hope you find the culprits. What sort of idiot does this 🤷🏻♂️
@MatthewHailes: Stuff like this 😡🤬. Why would anybody do this to any football club, let alone your local one who is overachieving in the football pyramid
