Second non league club has relegation confirmed

This weekend’s non league football saw yet another club having relegation confirmed, becoming the second to do so since Staines Town a few weeks ago.

Following yesterday’s 4-1 defeat to Hitchin Town, it was Bedworth United who became the latest club to have the dreaded ‘R’ next to their name, seeing them drop to the Southern Division One Central potentially next season.

It was a sleepy start from the home side who went on to brake the deadlock on the 29th minute when Harry Draper hit his strike low past the keeper.

Bedworth found an equaliser through an Alexandar Troke strike five minutes into the second half. However almost instantly Hitchin’s Max Ryan found the net from 20 yards, low into the bottom corner, now 2-1.

Isaac Galliford chipped the ball over the Bedworth keeper to make it 3-1 on 76 minutes and then Draper made it four with a lovely finish minutes later.

Despite the win for Hitchin, their boss felt disappointed with his side’s performance, especially in the first half.

Find out what he had to say in the video below…

4-year-old Seraph and his family had a day dedicated to them at Hitchin Town. Seraph has High Risk Neuroblastoma; an aggressive form of paediatric cancer, with only a 40% chance of surviving the next 5 years and the family need to raise money to get him treatment in the US.

They have £237,000 to raise for his next treatment. Text SERAPH 10 to 70085 to donate £10 or click HERE and help them to help him.
