Fans read Macclesfield players’ statement on not being paid their wages and took to voice their anger at the situation with most of the blame going towards the EFL…
As a supporter of @buryfcofficial I'm really torn here:
a) I would hate another local team to follow us down the football drain, but

How were @thesilkmen allowed to sign more players pre-season when they still owed money to 4 or 5 players for last season? Can @EFL explain this?

Surprised they don't have the money to pay? Surely they had to provide proof of funds to the @efl. After all that's why @buryfcofficial weren't allowed to start the season and were then expelled.

@Sawbo69: More proof that @EFL did not treat @buryfcofficial fairly. They clearly didn’t ask Macclesfield for proof that they could pay their players for the coming season as they did for Bury. I actually think this would give Bury grounds to take EFL to court for restriction of trade.
