AFC Wimbledon part company with their manager

Fans took to reply on the club’s tweet stating Wally Downes has parted company with AFC Wimbledon…

@jimboandandrea: As a shareholder, fair to say I’m Very unhappy with how this has been handled. It seems that our current CEO is on a different path to the founders of our club. A Very disturbing decision by him and the board and in my opinion a dreadful one.

@ewom: Disappointed to see him go. Thanks Wally for last season. Without you we’d be playing in league 2 right now

@jertzeedon: Sacked for the wrong reasons. @AFCWimbledon board and DTB board should take a good look at themselves in the mirror and honestly ask why they got rid of him. #copout

@patriotic_ally: I like the wording of the statement. Right to thank Wally. Feel sad about for him and about the whole situation but for the best I think. But why hasn’t Hodges been announced as his permanent replacement?

@Afc_SiPinnock: Ashamed to be a Wimbledon fan tonite, Joke of a board decision, He was never wanted by some , even after performing a miracle given a paupers purse in the transfer market as a thanks. Well done (some of the ) board you keep stroking your echoes.

@leewillett88: Wally had one bad run of form, ONE, and we fired him. Truly shocked. Thought we were Wimbledon. When things get tough, we stick together.

@leewillett88: When do we, as fans & owners, get to know the full story, please? Wally got us out of trouble last season, but has been fired with only a very short statement to fans hinting that the difficult start to this season was a factor. Has everyone forgotten the end of last season?

@jonny_977: Good decision thanks for last season wally
