STATEMENT ON CROWDFUNDER:
New Signing…..Maybe?
Nuneaton Borough are pushing for promotion this season. And off the back of our success so far this season, we are launching the Boost The Budget scheme.
Why are we doing this?
The priority in our club’s Vision, is sustainable success on the pitch.
That’s why we want to launch Boost the Budget now – allowing Jimmy and Andy, the opportunity to adjust their squad for the second half of the season and be able to afford to bring in the right players they believe they need to allow for exciting football and winning ways.
Every penny raised by the Crowdfunder will go to spending on the playing budget. We’re not the first to go down this route, others have done so, with great success in moving their club in the right direction.
Obviously, the benefits of success are not just limited to promotion this season. But football is a huge driver in the clubs sustainability, and a winning team has already created such an exciting buzz around the Town. Which in turn has driven larger attendances and increase our profile to potential sponsors.
From this scheme, we hope a successful promotion campaign will follow!
All doners will receive an invite to our end of season (promotion) party!
How you can play your part
There are three simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge and claim your reward. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards yourself. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out across social media and the matchday programme!
Our target is £25,000 and we recognise the impact cost of living is having on everyone, but this is #YourClub and every penny raised will make us stronger.
There is lots of work off the pitch happening too, with the lots of exciting things to be announced shortly. We have also improved the matchday experience, and allowed for affordable ticket prices for families and younger supporters, all of which is designed to push our club forwards, increase attendances, and grow commercial income.
In these ongoing difficult times with both ‘cost of living’ pressures, we know that making a financial commitment to the Club may not be possible at the level at which you would like, or even at all. It is important we all ensure that we’re in a position to look after ourselves and our families first and foremost.
However, if you are fortunate enough to be in a position to invest for the second half of the season, it will make a material difference to the playing budget and the target’s that Jimmy and Andy are aiming to secure. You can contribute any amount you like, no matter how large or small, as a lump sum, or a direct debit, as well as gaining your chosen reward.
Thank you, once again for your support!

As mentioned, the 7th tier club has been labelled as ’embarrassing’ after creating a crowdfunder to help them win promotion…
@afckitman: Embarrassing
@carterb1996: Wow, in the times like they are as well.. no shame
@gray_schofield: Promotion party invites 😂 does it include return coach travel to either Tamworth or Leiston?
@Daniel_C1987: At a time when the cost of living is crippling families and people are massively struggling to even put food on the table this is embarrassing and the fact the target is 25k is a joke to , if you can’t sustain it don’t do it and don’t beg for it , live within your means. Poor!!!
@luke1989smith: Imagine if all Non League clubs jumped on this idea #NonLeague
@seanb133:
Seen it all now £250
Gets you in the dugout
But they talk about wanting to be sustainable- which means wait for what they dress it up as next year
@tnekmail: Don’t think I’ve ever seen anything that sums up the current state of non-league football more than this. 🤮
@Jase_stokes23: Does any body not like to work hard for there success any more? Embarrassing this is. Asking your own fans for money?
@matthew_robert1: Never seen anything like it. Requesting 25k from fans to get promoted. Are these going bust again?
@JoeDoyle_95: What an earth am I seeing 😂😂
@bekhowell41: I have seen it all 💰
@jorjwwfc: Never a normal day in non league
@theraffleboy: People jobless…..cost of living crisis……this is fucking embarrassing @NuneatonBoroFC
@PaulSkillington: On a weekend when @ilkestontown_fc owners had their third “FREE for all” game this season, realising the financial strains our community is having….. Nuneaton are out with the begging bowl. It’s as sad as it is hilarious.😂
@ftblcharlie: That is so embarrassing 😂
@da06mo_A: Asking for money to get promoted 😂 surely that’s the chairman’s job 🤦🏽♂️
🤮 The absolute state of this and the ‘rewards’ they are offering, even claiming gift aid from the appeal. Some clubs have no shame! 🤦🏻♂️ #SpendWithinYourMeans #NonLeague https://t.co/WdSQVQ3cLa pic.twitter.com/KxDTe5EJIY

@Nickivanov16: About as embarrassing as Cleeve trying to raise £50 for a red card last year in national league 🙈🙈🙈😭
@ReeceBlackmore: Wow 😂😂😂😂 non league is brilliant isn’t it 😂
@lloyd_215: Coalville are about to steamroll it, sorry.
@Mgp2706: Surely Nuneaton would’ve learnt by now that if they spend more money than they have, it doesn’t end well 🤣 They *should* already be walking that league without fan investment
@callum_wood8: Dear me 😂😂😂😂
@allyprice8: Embarrassing 😂😂 promotion party invite 😂😂
@PL2NL: Not a fan of this at all.
@Nevey_10: Baffling 🤣🤣
@Robbins_111: What in the 😭😭😭🤦🏾♂️ hahahahaha so shameless
@joshua_afc00: desperate. Say it how it is you’re underperforming.
@ChrisSockett:
Great idea💡
Couple of things..
Do we get an input on the new signings to help with the promotion?
Do we get money back if they don’t get promoted?
Also will there be a party either way?
Need some assurances before I invest Otherwise seems like a waste of money 🤷♂️ #backtheboro
@lukefrxst: Erm
@lfraserbell: NUNEATON FANS- WE ARE IN A COST OF LIVING CRISIS AND A LOT OF YOU ARE STRUGGLING, BUT GIVE US MORE MONEY BECAUSE WE HAVE THE BIGGEST BUDGET AND GROUND IN THE LEAGUE! you need to go up first to have a promotion party
@GavinBrettell1: The irony of “Our vision is sustainability on the pitch” how is asking for money from fans sustainable???
@measom_lee: Don’t trust the squad you’ve already got 😂👀
@rhyslyons4: Cringy as fuck 😂
@kieranTwells22: Non league is officially done. Should be fucking ashamed…. £25k stick to what you can afford or fuck off
@_Nev20x: Never ever change lads
@cdslater81: Embarrassing and people have donated 🤦🏻♂️
@tom_scott2: ‘If we don’t win promotion this season it’s your fault as fans. Not us underperforming with the biggest budget in the league’
@Rawlbag70: Wondered when the bubble was gonna go “pop”
