24/25 FA Cup Third Qualifying Round sees 8 upsets and goals galore

The 24/25 FA Cup Third Qualifying Round sees 8 upsets and goals galore with there many a bumper crowd to see who would advance through.

40 games are played at this stage of the competition, with the sides who managed to book a place into the Fourth Qualifying Round (draw on Monday) receiving £5,625, while the losing teams pick up £1,875.

We have to start with Bury, who play in the 9th tier, coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 away at 6th tier Radcliffe.

Antony Dudley’s early goal for the hosts separated the two sides at half time, but Bury didn’t out of this by any means.

Bury got level on 56 minutes, Sam Coughlan hit a low free kick from the left, into the net.

The Shakers went ahead on 82 minutes, Ruben Jerome broke clear from the halfway line into the left channel, cut past his man and struck a firm shot which Hewelt got a hand to but couldn’t keep it from going in.

On the 87th minute, Radcliffe got an equaliser, Adams sent a free kick in from the right, headed across and Josh Wardle poked it past Allen.

On 89 minutes, Ruben stole the ball, was fouled, the ref pointed to the spot and Bryan Ly converted, scenes in the Bury end!

There was an upset of two leagues above when Gorleston (level 8) winning 4–2 at home to St Albans City (level 6).

David Noble watched on in disbelief with the minnows from the Isthmian League Division One North, stunned the National League South outfit.

Gorleston went ahead on 41 minutes through Christy Finch, before the Saints went level eight minutes into the second half through Josh Castiglione.

However, in the space of the next nine minutes they conceded three goals, with a 77th-minute strike from Shaun Jeffers a consolation.
