The 23/24 FA Cup Third Qualifying Round sees four upsets with 104 goals from the 40 ties played over the weekend and some replays needed.
It was another busy few days of action, with a fair few surprises, and those who win their ties pick up £5,625, while the lost sides are given £1,875.
Emley were the sole team from Level 9 to progress to this stage, however despite putting in a good effort, they lost 1-0 to three leagues above Alfreton Town.
The biggest shock saw Leek Town who are two leagues below South Shields, come out as 2-0 winners, with the added pleasure of it being televised via the BBC.
The cagey start saw Paul Blackett send an early effort wide for the visitors before Leek broke the deadlock in the 11th minute through excellent play by Tom Scully, who burst ahead and curled in a inviting cross which Marc Grocott volleyed past Myles Boney to put South Shields behind.
The National League North outfit nearly went two down straight from the restart with left back Blair Adams squaring a ball straight to Rob Stevenson, with Leek in a two against one scenario, however, after playing in the unmarked Opoku, Stevenson attempted to go it alone and missed a good chance.
On the 48th minute, Leek made it 2-0 with a stunning strike from range by Robert Stevenson. You have to see it in the video below, with it being called a contender for goal of the round…
