Wrexham’s Paul Mullin sings ‘f*** the Tories’ chant in McDonald’s months after message on boots

Wrexham’s Paul Mullin sings a ‘f*** the Tories’ chant in McDonald’s just months after having the same message on his boots.

The 28 year old got plenty of people talking after was being filmed leading the song the morning after his team won promotion to League Two.

Mullin was still in the party spirit after scoring two of the three goals that Wrexham won having come from behind against Boreham Wood on Saturday.

The video shows Mullin singing along with his teammates in a local McDonald’s, and it’s not the first time he’s expressed this.

He hasn’t shy about putting across his political views, previously sharing photos earlier this season of boots made to order with the same message embroidered on them.

The club was taken at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground, with the club telling Mullin to take the post down and instead could take them again but in a plain setting.

CustomsZebra, a boot designer, was asked to remove the original images and then repost them with a plain background.

The club has a policy of ‘neutrality’ in political matters.

Wrexham has also said that Mullin, former Liverpool youth starlet, will not be permitted to wear the boots in the future with the controversial message.

The club said: “The Club can confirm that the boots revealed by Paul Mullin on social media will not be worn tonight, or in any other Wrexham AFC fixture and that the photographs taken at the Racecourse Ground were done so without our knowledge or approval,” the statement reads. ”For the record, the pictures wouldn’t have been permitted to be taken, had we known, and the issue will be dealt with privately by the Club.

“The Club has adopted a neutral position on many matters with a political dimension and intends to continue to do so going forward. The Club also acknowledge that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether that be employees or supporters but would also highlight that an individual view cannot be fairly attributed, as the view of everyone or the Club itself.”

Meanwhile, Mullin has revealed that a book all about his life will be released later this year.

The synopsis reads, as per Wrexham The Leader: “The memoir from Wrexham’s star player, Paul Mullin – as seen in Welcome to Wrexham, a Disney+ documentary series by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

“In July 2021, shortly after being named League Two’s Player of the Season and Golden Boot, Paul Mullin sent shockwaves through the EFL by taking a downwards move to National League team, Wrexham AFC.

“Since then, ‘Super Paul Mullin’ has helped transform the Wrexham team, scoring goal after goal and capturing the imaginations of football fans across the world in the process.

“Here for the first time, Mullin tells his own story: his roots in Liverpool, the highs and lows of English football’s promotion race, lessons learnt from his young son’s Autism diagnosis, and what happens when Hollywood comes knocking at your door.”

Taking to Twitter to announce the book, Mullin said: “Am so excited to say I’ve written a book all about my life, growing up in Liverpool, my time at Wrexham and my son Albi! It’s out in November but you can pre order it now! Huge effort till the end of the season now!!”
