Wrexham look to signing ex-Bristol City, Middlesbrough, Cardiff, Peterborough player Lee Tomlin, who is currently training with the club.
The former EFL playmaker is reportedly training with the National League side and has has been without a club since leaving the Bluebirds by mutual consent in October.
However he is now be poised for a return to Welsh football, and he’ll spend the next few days at the Racecourse Ground outfit.

The 33 year old could just be looking to strengthen their bid for a top five finish and, ultimately, a return to the EFL for the first time since 2007-08.
The forward is training with Phil Parkinson’s men today and tomorrow, but it seems there is a long way to go before Wrexham make any sort of concrete contract offer.
Tomlin’s career at Cardiff was largely punctuated by injury and off-the-pitch problems, but he was a key part of the Bluebirds’ charge to the play-offs under Neil Harris in 2020, netting eight goals and producing 10 assists along the way.
In a post on social media recently, Tomlin states that he wants to get back to his best and fight to get his career back on track.
“In the past few months I’ve been waking up like it’s an accident,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I’m back on this and getting to the place where I was two years ago.
“Life is full of ups and downs that’s part of life, but dealing with it is a different matter.
“We all deal with it in different ways, so I dealt with it by getting fit for the first time in my life properly and mentally I was a machine.
“But over the last two years I’ve gradually gone back to my old self and I don’t like it and only I can change that.
“So what I’m trying to say is do what YOU want to do in life that makes you happy and do what YOU want in life that you enjoy and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t.
“Enjoy life we don’t have don’t have as much time as you think.”

Lee Tomlin is training with Wrexham today & tomorrow. Been out a long while with injury setbacks, but just wants to get on the grass again.
Told it’s not viewed as a trial, per se, but if it suits all parties a move hasn’t been ruled out.
Be helluva signing 😂 #CCFC #Bluebirds

@Dean94_: Imagine Lee Tomlin behind mullin 😍 ⚽️ ⚽️
@matthewblue1103: What a waste of a career
@Luke_Clayton1: So me signing him on my first season in FM really was realistic
@eggy141: Fantastic player when hes fit.
@normanhanlon10: If he keeps fit and signs for Wrexham he will score goals. good luck to him he gave his all for city.
@matthewjamesali: Serious player when his head isn’t in the shed. Hope he signs and smashes it.
@TC_wxm: This would be a massive signing.
@PlayFrTheDragon: Here’s Tomlin…in behind to MULLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN 😍 #UTST
@JimmyThePunt: No way
@nathanrees1927: What a signing for Wrexham that could be!!!
@AdrianH23306560:
Cardiffs player of the season 2 seasons ago.
Scores goals and plenty of assists.
Top player when fit and only 33
BUT already signed two injury prone players .
Ticks a lot of box’s 🤔🤔
@Phillip92336834: Hope it works out for @Leetomlin10
@diffmj: only a hellavu signing if he can be arsed or whether it’ll be 1 setback til it’s back on the golf and burgers
@MattadzAdams:
I’d stay well away from him
Constant issues
Some moments of Magic
But seems to have an attitude problem
@Kenlee681: Hope he helps you get promotion
@chrisallen9: To many issues that boy, been at it all his career, it ain’t about to change Wrexham fans sorry 😢
@StevieAber: For gods sake make it a pay as you play deal. If you give him a normal contract you’ll get 3 weeks of effort then bugger all until it’s time to look for another contact. Skilful but totally unreliable.
@JamesL1927: A fit Tomlin would be a joke at that level. Just hope he’s fit, happy and got his head together again.
@BluebirdsPast: That Tik Tok hook-up too hard to turn down.
@GazTrow: I remember people saying to get the best out of Mullin we need a Wes Hoolahan type player, here is your Wes Hoolahan type player. Absolutely class
