While those two upsets were enough to get fans to start doubting the younger players and call for more experienced players to start (such as Giroud and Pedro), Frank Lampard, however, stuck by his decision to give the young players more of a chance, and his decision has been paying off ever since.
In fact, since their rocky start, Chelsea have been in great form and have lost only one game apart from the opening weekend game. They currently sit third in the table, equal on points with Leicester City who are in second and one point ahead of Manchester City. The young players, however, have exceeded expectations and delivered the goods. Chelsea are looking like they might just be in contention for second place.
