West Ham owner slammed for liking controversial post mocking his club’s fans

West Ham owner David Gold has been slammed for liking a controversial post mocking his club’s fans, and it’s gone down badly on social media.

Hammers fans are currently venting out their frustration at the owners with the club looking at facing a massive relegation battle this season unless results improve.

Things were initially looking good for West Ham during Saturday’s match after being 2-0 up against Brighton by half time and 3-1 up by the 57th minute, only to throw away their two goal lead and were left clinging on for a 3-3 draw by the end.

That result saw David Moyes’ side drop into the bottom three of the Premier League table, following a run of five games without a win.

It comes against the backdrop of angry fan protests against the board with another planned for the next home game against Southampton.

After a relatively positive transfer deadline day, where they signed Hull goalscorer Jarrod Bowen, one West Ham fan took to Twitter to defend the owners and criticised his fellow supporters.

Gold liked a tweet from @claretbluetrue that read: “Well done to the three Davids.

“Funny how the moron contingent have gone quiet tonight as yet again in a highly competitive market the board have spent big.”

Gold was soon criticised for his “like”, which was seen by 200,000 followers, with WHUISA branding it an “appalling lack of judgment.”

They said: “David Gold’s decision to like the following tweet shows an appalling lack of judgement and understanding for the way West Ham fans feel.

“Calling us morons is never OK.”

Fans continued to give their reaction on Twitter after the West Ham owner David Gold was slammed for liking the controversial post…
