Viewers in hysterics at what Emiliano Martinez did during Bruno Fernandes penalty

Viewers has been left in hysterics at what Emiliano Martinez did during Bruno Fernandes penalty in Aston Villa’s win against Man Utd.

A Kortney Hause header sealed Aston Villa their first victory at Old Trafford since 2009 after Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes ended up missing an injury-time penalty.

During the spot kick, the West Midlands’ club’s shot stopper could be seen winding up the Portuguese penalty taker. See what he did below…

Bruno Fernandes skied a stoppage-time penalty as Aston Villa prevented Manchester United moving top of the Premier League with a deserved 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.

Just when it seemed a catalogue of missed gilt-edged chances would cost Villa a first win at Old Trafford since 2009, defender Kortney Hause broke the deadlock two minutes from time with a brilliant near-post header past a helpless David de Gea.

In a dramatic late finale, Hause went from hero to villain in the space of three minutes when he was adjudged to have blocked substitute Edinson Cavani’s header with his arm in added time.

VAR upheld the contentious on-field decision but Villa justice was served when penalty specialist Fernandes – having kept the ball from Cristiano Ronaldo – blazed woefully over the target to end United’s hopes of salvaging a point.

United’s first defeat of the season, which was compounded by injuries to Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire, sees Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side slip to fourth in the table, while Villa climb to seventh after securing back-to-back wins for the first time.

Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tells Match of the Day: “You can take it when it’s a good goal conceded against you, but that’s offside. He’s touched David as he heads the ball. How that’s a goal and Leicester have not got their goals, I just can’t see the consistency and that’s clearly offside.”

On the missed penalty: “I’ve not seen it because it ended up with nothing anyway so I can’t comment on that one but unfortunately we missed the chance to get a point.”

On the delay before the penalty and Villa players surrounding Fernandes:“I wasn’t going to mention it but it’s not right that they do that. I guess that should be a yellow card for someone but they have achieved what they wanted.

“We were very aggressive, very good on transition, got forward quickly but the final shot, final pass and final decision wasn’t always the best one. 20 of the 30 attempts were blocked.”

On Man Utd’s current form going into Champions League: “Big game. Champions League. We need to pick up points which is a position these boys have been in before. I know they will fight for each other and fight for the shirt and we will be ready for that one.”

Aston Villa manager Dean Smith tells Match of the Day: “I thought we deserved the win today. We were aggressive and brave and you have to be coming here.”

On the penalty: “I’ve seen it back. I thought it was a very harsh penalty. I’m not sure where is is supposed to put his arms when it flashes across. For me, justice was done when he missed it.”

On the goal: “We caused them problems from set pieces all game but the biggest thing for me is the bravery we showed coming here and going toe-to-toe with them.”

On if today was a statement win: “I’ve not been big on making excuses, that’s not my thing. But we have had reasons and not being able to field our best players for the first start of the games. Now we have a healthier squad that are competing with each other and it showed today.”
