A dramatic finale at Adams Park this afternoon saw Sunderland score a late equaliser against Wycombe Wanderers, but it wasn’t just the scoreline that got everyone talking.
In the 98th minute, Marcus Bean has been sent off for a tackle on Duncan Watmore as well as reds being dished out to George Honeyman and Nathan Tyson for an incident off the field.
The Chairboys state that there was a “massive altercation on the touchline between the two teams”. A fan who posted a video of the incident said “Fair enough, Honeyman shouldn’t push their coach for booting the ball away, but the Wycombe bench’s reaction is minging. They were cynical throughout.”

The game itself however saw Wycombe take the lead in the 35th minute thanks to Alex Samuel. Dominic Gape won back possession in the middle, came forward with the ball, played it wide to Paris Cowan-Hall who picked out Samuel in acres of space in the box to fire it home.
Minutes later Samuel went down in the area after being challenged by Flanagan, however the referee ignored appeals for a penalty.
Despite a few efforts from both sides in the second half, the ball didn’t find the net again until the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Sunderland levelled as Duncan Watmore converted the rebound after Ryan Allsop parried Grant Leadbitter’s strike from range.
Following the touchline brawl minutes after Watmore’s equaliser, fans took to social media to give their reaction, some of those amusing – check out what they had to say on the next page.
