A video has emerged showing Sunderland fans in the Bolton end fight with the home fans before getting escorted out.
It came after watching Aiden McGeady scored a late equaliser from the spot to send the away support celebrating and cursing those in the home end.
As mentioned, some of the travelling fans sat into a section of Bolton fans and can be be seen in the clip below throwing punches. There are other claims however that a fan legged it from the away end and into the family stand.
Stewards and security staff quickly made their way towards the chaos to calm the situation down, before escorting a fan out…
Sunderland spent majority of the match 1-0 down after Jack Hobbs scored from close range after Ali Crawford’s free-kick was headed across goal by Will Buckley.
Despite McGeady managing to make things level again, some of those in the away end continued to boss their manager Jack Ross.
He has picked up 16 points from nine matches, but many a 1-1 draw this season already has left fans concerned that they will fail in getting that much needed promotion this season.
Chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” could be heard directed at the manager before Bolton fans also took to mock him by singing “sacked in the morning”.
He said after the game that the criticism doesn’t bother him and that he can handle the pressure.
Ross said: “Any criticism, give it to me. That’s my job.
“You make decisions based on how you think players have performed at the time. We then find an equaliser, so whether that justifies it or not I don’t know.
“It is my job to do that, it is fine, criticism, no problem. That’s football. That’s no problem.
“I am a 43-year-old man, I have been through a lot in life to earn the right to work and deal with things, it is not a flippant remark.
“Like any human being, criticism is not nice for any person, irrespective of what walk of life you are in.
“Strength of character to deal with it is a different thing. It is no problem.”
