After watching the video of the QPR fans hurling abuse at Stoke’s James McClean on Saturday, social media users took to give their reaction…
Why do they want to know where his puppy is?
— Ciarán Ferrie (@ccferrie) 10 March 2019
Screaming ‘where’s your poppy’ as if they’ll all be sat in mid March with poppies on ??

The majority were in defence towards the Irish player…
Massive respect for James McClean and all he puts up with, Creggan born & bred ????
— Martin Heneaghan (@MartinHeneaghan) 10 March 2019
Imagine supporting English football because they all have fans like this. James McClean is a great man who doesn’t bow down when other tell him he should. He will be always a legend in Ireland and that’s really all that should matter not some idiots screaming anti Irish shite
— Irish (@IrishGreatness) 9 March 2019
As a football fan and a fan of fair play and acceptance, this sort of attitude towards a player is disgracefull. Everyone has a view in life and these need to be respected and those fans need a lifetime ban

Don’t endorse this as a QPR fan. Our club has some real dickheads supporters, that’s all it is. QPR is a club with a huge Irish contingent supporting it and most of us support McClean’s rights to freedom of speech ??

So James McClean subjected to more Anti-Irish abuse today by @QPR fans but it's said it's unlikely any action will be taking by the English FA. Can you imagine if it was a black player or jew subject to that abuse i can tell you from previous incidents action would've been taken
